With the rapid development of social economy and the great improvement of material life,people turn to pay more attention to the pursuit of spiritual civilization,especially the design needs of human care and emotional experience.Henan is located in the hinterland of the Central Plains,is an important agricultural production base in China,rich in local products.As a local characteristic product,the packaging of local specialty products is the platform of displaying regional culture.Excellent packaging of local specialty products plays an important role in transmitting Central Plains culture,promoting the image of Henan region,improving the brand influence of local specialty products and developing local economy.The purpose of this paper is to use the emotional theory to explore an innovative application method to comprehensively enhance the emotional design in the packaging of local specialties in Henan Province.Combining the theoretical research with the design practice,on the basis of in-depth understanding of the Central Plains culture,the re-creation of local specialty packaging was carried out.Through the methods of literature collection,questionnaire survey,case study,comparative analysis and systematic exploration,the specific packaging design practice is carried out according to the classification of local specialties in Henan Province.First of all,the paper analyzes the regional cultural background,types and consumer psychological needs of local specialties in Henan Province,and summarizes the current situation of packaging design of local specialties in Henan Province: the awareness of brand building is gradually enhanced,the basic functions of packaging are relatively perfect,and the lack of humanized design and emotional concern.Secondly,combined with the related theory of emotional design,this paper discusses from three dimensions of instinct,behavior and reflection of emotional experience,and puts forward the emotional design procedures and methods that adapt to the packaging of local specialties in Henan: highlighting the visual performance of Henan regional culture,increasing the interactive experience of consumers,and extending the emotional experience of consumers.Finally,for the design and application part,according to the classification research route,the local specialties in Henan Province are roughly divided into six categories: grain and oil,fruits and vegetables,beverages,pastries,convenience dishes and handicrafts.Through the comparison and analysis with the excellent works of similar products at home and abroad,we found the existing problems in the packaging of local specialties in Henan Province,and put forward the personal design scheme.In order to achieve the combination of traditional culture and individual style of innovative packaging forms,and for the related emotional theory research and local specialty packaging design and application to provide developmental reference.
