Energy plays a key role in the process of growth and development of the countries,a resource whose production, distribution and consumption occupy an important place in terms of economic policy and decision of the countries.Taking a place in Togo's energy policy, access to this resource is a concern for the government, especially the type of energy and its use in order to avoid any negative externality effect on the Togolese economy and living conditions.Population.In order to limit these externalities and promote equitable access to clean energy, the objective of our thesis is to examine the relationship between energy consumption,CO2emissions and their impact on economic growth in Togo. This was done to capture its future perspective from an econometric analysis based on the tests of the Auto Regressive Distributed Lag?ARDL?and the Granger causality test. The results of the econometric analysis confirm the existence of a positive long-run relationship between CO2 emissions and real GDP and show that the meaning of this relationship goes from economic growth to CO2 emissions according to the Granger causality tests. In other words, for a developing country like Togo,it is economic growth that determines the level of emissions and not vice versa. This implies that an energy policy in favor of the environment can be implemented without risking having negative repercussions on economic growth. The results also indicate bidirectional, unidirectional and causal relationships between energy consumption and certain variables. The results of this study show a long-term interaction between energy consumption and all variables?CO2,GDP,energy,agricultural services, industry?and reveal how understanding these relationships can help decision makers understand the risks that can exist between these relationships. The contribution of this thesis lies in the different variables incorporated into the study model.Unlike studies conducted with only two variables, this study is different in that it is multidimensional. This work is provided with insufficient data and information, but we propose to encourage access to statistical information in the energy sector,to encourage all policies that facilitate access to clean electrical energy.Because fossil fuels contribute to the degradation of the environment which must lead decision-makers to invest and encourage initiatives that promote the production of electric energy from clean resources?non-polluting?knowing that all actions aimed at saving energy will have a negative impact on economic growth.
