Research On The Design Of Traditional Instrument Of Hani Nationality In Yunnan Province

In this paper,the research object is Hani traditional musical instruments in Yunnan province.This essay will focus on the perspective of design to process a thematic study.Hani nationality has a migration history of nearly one thousand years,and has gradually formed a musical instrument system with strong national characteristics.It not only vividly illustrates Hani's lifestyle and social culture,but also highlights the design features and culture of Hani's traditional instruments.This paper based on the materials by literature search,field investigation and methods of design science,comprehensively associations the research methods of ethnology,history,musicology,materials science,ergonomics and other disciplines.This paper analyzes the classification,shape,material,production process,sound principles and operation mode of Hani traditional musical instruments.Also,it summarizes the design traits of Hani traditional musical instruments,such as diverse types,simple forms,rich shapes,local materials,materials and techniques,favorable for sound making and pleasant utilization.Besides,it examines the unique national connotation.This paper explores the design culture of Hani traditional musical instruments from two aspects: Hani traditional festivals and social customs.Hani Traditional musical instruments play an important role in Hani social and cultural life,such as serving as the main body of sacrifice,communicating with gods,celebrating the harvest,encouraging labor,expressing emotions,assisting social interaction,activating emotions and heighten atmosphere.These significant functions demonstrate that combination of "singing,playing,jumping." and "ethics,sound,appearance".These two types of cultural characteristics to complement for each other.In terms of design ideas,it is concluded that the Hani traditional musical instruments are taken from nature and used for nature.In addition,everyone can obtain and apply to people.This paper involves the new ideas and methods of Hani traditional musical instrument research from the perspective of design,so that have a further value for the research of other traditional musical instruments in China.
