The sewing technology of the carbon fiber laminated cloth is mainly used to solve the problems of poor fracture toughness and low impact damage tolerance of the carbon fiber composite material and the C/C composite material lamination direction.It is a low-cost laminated cloth forming technology.However,due to the characteristics of the carbon fiber itself,in the actual sewing process,the sewing mechanism will exert dynamic tension and shear force on the carbon fiber sewing thread,and the sewing thread will be worn by machine parts such as carbon cloth and pinhole.This phenomenon causes the carbon fiber sewing thread to have a high breaking rate,seriously affecting production efficiency and economic benefits.This paper summarizes the development of domestic and foreign carbon fiber fabric sewing,and focuses on the following aspects of research:(1)According to the inherent properties of carbon fiber filaments with high brittleness and low fracture toughness and the requirements of sewing technology,a set of auxiliary mechanism suitable for carbon fiber laminated fabrics is designed by combining mechanical design theory and virtual prototype method by combining the characteristics of common industrial sewing machines.The sewing thread is periodically relaxed by the winding fork and the winding ring.The mechanism eliminates the dynamic tension and shearing force during the sewing process to reduce the wire breakage rate and ensure the smooth progress of the stitching process.(2)The auxiliary mechanism is modeled and simulated based on Pro/E software.The simulation results are compared with the analytical method to verify the correctness of the model establishment,and the motion analysis of the winding fork and the winding ring is assessed.The auxiliary mechanism is stable and meets the expected design requirements.(3)In order to enhance the mechanical properties of the carbon fiber suture in the direction perpendicular to the fiber,the carbon fiber sewing thread structure is changed by twisting,the strength and wear of the sewing thread are improved,the occurrence of yarn breakage is reduced,and the finite element model of the carbon fiber sewing thread is established.The method of the element is used to simulate the properties of sewing thread in ABAQUS.(4)Combining the characteristics of metal copper with wear resistance,the surface of carbon fiber sewing tow is protected by copper plating to improve its wear resistance.The copper-plated carbon fiber sewing tow was modeled by using the three-dimensional software Pro/E.(5)The wear resistance of the tow copper plating layer was analyzed by finite element method in ABAQUS.Comparing other forms of protection under the same working conditions,it was found that copper plating on the surface of the tow can significantly improve the wear resistance of the carbon fiber.(6)The stiffness of the copper-plated carbon fiber and other high-performance fibers was compared in ABAQUS,and the sewability of the copper-plated carbon fiber thread was analyzed.In this paper,the research on the sewing technology of carbon fiber laminated cloth is provided to provide a reference for solving the problems of fluffing and disconnection in the domestic carbon fiber laminated cloth during the sewing process.In addition,61 figures,8 tables,70 references are included in this paper.
