Research On The Costumes Of Seventy-two Dong Villages In Southeast Of Guizhou Province

The Seventy-two Dong villages preserve the cultural and traditional details which are inherent from generations to generations in many aspects,such as daily life and ritual behavior.The preservation of national costumes is relatively complete,and its historical origins and cultural forms are possible to be understood through the records of local documents and folk documents.These provide the possibility for the study of the Seventy-two Dong villages costumes.This paper takes the costumes of the Seventy-two Dong villages as the object of study,through the analysis of local documents and ethnography,combines the local broadcasting and entertainment bureau,the county cultural center and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center to inherit and protect the Dong minority costumes which is intangible cultural heritage,conducted field study on the Seventy-two Dong villages,and then studied the three major aspects of it,clothing characteristics,costume culture connotation and costume inheritance to get the following conclusions:The women's dress is the most distinctive of the Seventy-two Dong villages,which have many accessories,colorful colors and exquisite workmanship so as to be able to distinguish other Dong minority branches.The decoration technique on the clothing is mainly embroidery.Women synthetically use flat embroidery,Panjin embroidery,twisting embroidery,folding embroidery and Chan embroidery to make dragon pattern,fish pattern,bird pattern,phoenix pattern,bat pattern,butterfly pattern and flower pattern vivid.The production and use of Dong fabric is also a major feature of the Seventy-two Dong villages,the processing of brightness and color is different from other Dong minority branches.The shape,materials,colors,patterns and costume techniques of the costumes are influenced by factors such as natural ecological environment,rice cultivating culture,female status,folk etiquette and Han culture exchange,it shows abundant cultural connotations of clothing.It should not be overlooked that the Seventy-two Dong villages are pursuing modernization accompanied by the demise of their own traditional art.The inheritance and development of clothing is imperative.Fortunately,The Seventy-two Dong villages actively promoted the inheritance and development of clothing under the guidance of the Rongjiang County Government,the Broadcasting and Entertainment Bureau and the Cultural Center.The phenomenon of using the new embroidery stitching method to express the national costume pattern,using the national embroidery stitching method to express other patterns,and boldly designing innovative costume also appears.
