A Study On Gross Ecosystem Product Accounting Of Liping County

Ecosystem supports and underlies the activities of life on the earth.It also provides necessary products and services for human daily life and production.It plays an important role in ecological environmental protection and economic and social development.Liping County is an important timber production county in Guizhou Province with a wide forest area,high forest coverage,rich forest resources and excellent ecological environment.This paper takes Liping County as a case study of the calculation of gross ecosystem product(GEP).By using market value method,shadow engineering method,alternative cost method,tourism cost method and willingness to pay method,the GEP of forest,shrub,grassland,wetland and farmland ecosystems is calculated respectively from three service functions of product provision,regulation service and cultural service.Among them,product provision function includes 7 indicators,regulation function includes 8,cultural service function includes 1,a total of 16 indicators accounting for GEP in Liping County.The results showed that in 2016,the GEP of Liping County was 52713 million yuan,with an average per capita of 94.7 million yuan.In that year,the gross domestic product(GDP)of Liping County was 8.032 billion yuan,and the GEP was 666 times of GDP.Among them,the value of ecosystem regulation services was the largest(47.156 billion yuan),accounting for 89.46% of GEP,followed by the value of cultural services(3.549 billion yuan),accounting for 673% and the value of product provision was the smallest(2.08 billion yuan).It accounts for 3.81%,reflecting that GDP accounting neglects the enormous ecological value of the ecosystem.Liping County has a higher ecological value.The main ecosystem service function is to regulate the service function,which has a higher guidance and reference significance for the areas with high forest coverage and economic development.Compared with the GEP of other nine counties(cities and districts)in GuizhouProvince,the average unit area GEP of five counties(cities and districts)with high forest coverage,including Liping County,was higher than that of four counties(cities and districts)with low forest coverage,except for the dolomite area,indicating that the area with high forest coverage had higher GEP per unit area.From the proportion of different service functions in GEP,we find that the proportion of regulating service value in GEP of Liping County is 89.46%,which is much higher than that of other nine counties(cities and districts),while the total value of product provision and cultural service is 10.54%,which is much lower than that of other nine counties(cities and districts).This shows that Liping County has great potential for development in product and tourism culture.This paper calculates the GEP of Liping County,and its index system and accounting method can provide reference for other small-scale(county,city,district)GEP accounting.The results show that the ecological service function of Liping County is good,especially the regulating service function plays a greater role,which is closely related to the vast forest area of Liping County.It has a certain guiding and promoting role for the ecological environment protection,ecological civilization construction and economic development of Liping County,and has important significance for the forestry development of Liping County and even Guizhou Province.
