The female dress style of the Mongolian Buryatia is distinct, and there is a difference in female dress(married and unmarried women).Compared with other Mongolian costumes, there are also differences.Based on the innovative application of Mongolian Buryatia women 's costumes and their elements in modern garment design, this paper uses the research methods of field investigation, physical and literature combination, comparison and summary to comb the history of Buryatia, analyze the appearance characteristics of women's costumes in this tribe and their similarities and differences, and summarize their structural characteristics. At the same time,in this paper, the influencing factors of women's dress configuration in Buryatia are discussed and analyzed and on this basis, the typical elements of the female dress are extracted. The series of urban fashion women's clothing design work are carried out by combining these typical elements with the modern dress design techniques and modeling laws.Through the study, this paper holds that the female costumes of Buryatia have formed a unique shape under the influence of natural geographical environment, foreign culture and their own culture.Among them, because of the remote geographical location, the female clothing of the tribe still maintain the ancient system. The climatic conditions determine that the female robe has only winter and summer, whose characteristics are thick fabric, vertical collar, narrow sleeves and rope shape. The form of female robe,as tops and bottoms,is inherited from the Mongolian dress culture. The waist multi-fold structure is the result of adapting to the nomadic way of life.Influenced by Russian costumes, the sleeve type of the married female robe is stereoscopic, which is different from other Mongolian costumes. The “chang” character on the edge of the unmarried women's gowns are tri-colored,which embodies the tribal people's worship of heaven, earth, fire and the ancestors of swans. The change of left edge to right edge in female gowns shows that the Mongolian tolerate and learn the advantaged culture of the Han nationality.National costumes are an important basis for modern garment design, and modern fashion design theory provides theoretical support for the innovative design of national costumes.Through the innovative application of the elements of women's clothing in Buryatia, modern clothing design has innovation and the continuation of national culture.
