The Research On The Application Of Space Shaping Of Half-hitch Knot Technology In Female Dress Design

The half-hitch knot is one of the techniques of knitting arts, the most basic and concise technical operating means among all the knitting techniques. In the field of modern fiber arts, the half-hitch knot technology is favored by artists and is used to express their inner feelings and their opinions about arts. They use the half-hitch knot technique to fabricate interesting interior ornaments and articles of daily use. In recent years, costume designers apply this kind of knitting technique into costume design, which has broken through the traditional way of applying female dress fabrics and deduced refreshing styles and features of dress design. The adequate researches done by predecessors on the stereoscopic space shaping of female dress make the style and structure design and development fields of half-hitch knot technology become narrower and narrower, so what is more promising is the innovative application of fabrics and techniques. Under such a background and condition, the exploration of the combination the space shaping of half-hitch knot technology with female-dress possesses a practical meaning.In this thesis, the author researched the application of the space shaping of half-hitch knot technology in female dress design. Through researching the influence of the knitting and shaping methods and the fibrous materials of the half-hitch knot on the styles of half-hitch knot crafts, the author carried out the innovative design and application of the combination of the space shaping of half-hitch knot technology and the textures and patterns of female dress, which skillfully combined the half-hitch knot knitting technology and costumes so as to try different visual perception that new fabrics and techniques could bring to costumes.
