Chinese folk paper cutting has long history,broad masses and high value of folk art which is the representative portray of folk life as well as the heritage and development of ancient folk art.Paper cutting of each region has their own unique characteristic because of different region.As the most typical folk art in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region,Helingeer’s paper cutting is known for its unique style which has intuitive appeal and directly reflects the collision between central plains civilization and grassland civilization in this region.In 2008,as a joint application project of Chinese paper cutting,Helingeer’s paper cutting was approved by the United Nations and has been listed in the “Representative list of intangible cultural heritage of mankind”.This paper is mainly based on the inheritance,protection and development of this intangible cultural heritage in brand new way and to spread it without losing the original cultural connotation,it is necessary to carry out a fire-new innovation and development in the way of cultural and creative products in order to make Helingeer’s paper cutting enter modern people’s life in another form.The cultural and creative products of Helingeer’s paper cutting are based on the interpretation of the paper cutting by the designer,the elements were then reprocessed and redesigned so that they can not only enter the modern life but also in line with the living needs of today’s people.It has unusual significance and value in exploring the development path of Helingeer’s paper cutting.This paper is mainly based on the historical origin and development background of Helingeer’s paper cutting,consumption value of paper cutting products in the minds of public can be better interpreted by further exploration of the cultural value andartistic characteristic.Further exploration of the cultural value and artistic characteristic was used to attain better interpretation about consumption value of paper cutting products in the minds of public with the development background of Helingeer’s paper cutting historical origin.This paper analyzes and discusses the application principles of Helingeer’s paper cutting in cultural and creative products based on the extraction of symbolic patterns and composition forms of it and also explains the application and innovation of Helingeer’s paper cutting elements in graphic design,such as packaging design,food,tourist souvenirs and lighting design respectively.
