The Research On The Change Of ChengDu XinChang Make Technology Of Hand Incense

In the past thousands of years in China,the culture of incense has been developing greatly as time goes by.It plays an indispensable role in people's life,as a medium of intercourse between mortals and immortals or as a link,tying the antients with us.The workmanship of manual incense,in Xinchang,Chengdu,which have great value of cultural heritage,have been part of the intangible cultural heritage with Chinese characteristics.They were a success because of much contribution of great minds in ancient times,which were against the testing of time with new techniqiues and ideas put into.Nowadys,the workmanship of manual incense must change to keep up with the pace diven by the booming ofmechanisation and intellectualization.The researches on the manual incense in Xinchang,not only benefits its further development but also are considered as a complementary approach to know more about intangible cultural heritage.Besides,it also can protect the cultural diversity after a well-prepared reserch for the future heritage.With the guidanceof ethnography and artistic theory,this project is designed to do some researches based on the manual incense in Xinchang,to discover the skills that we are unable to get close to,the manufacturing processes and its origination and flourishment.In order to achieve these goals,anthropological fieldwork is employed to study how the manual insence in Xinchang,the natural and useless materials at the very beginning,turns into a symbol of Xinchang.This can also help to remove such doubts.Why are they finally in this form? How do they infuence the shaping of villages? And how do they help the local economy and customs to develop?In this way,we carried out a field study on the manual incense in Xinchang,knowing more about itsorigination,distribution as well as inheritors and analyzing the spices,wares used for incense and workmanship according to the materialization and culture.From the horizontal and vertical angles,a comparison has been made betweenthe traditional incense culture and the current incense culture.After that,from the perspective of anthropology,sociology,psychology in combination with manual incense which has a good market while most of other intangible cultural heritage are not,a research can be carried out to find out today's people's consumption habits and consumption psychology.By analyzing the unique case in Xinchang,this paper tries to explore people's consumption habits and theirpreference of useless thingsin an age of materialism.Most importantly,it helps to find an excellent road for other intangible cultural heritage to develop forward.Through the analysis of this article,try to dicover a new way for the future development of China's manual incense and make some contribution to the protection of the intangible cultural heritage.
