The Study Of Sofa Color Preference And Development Of Color Customization System

In this study,sofa color is taken as the research object.Based on the market research and network research,the main color,auxiliary color,and auxiliary color distribution of the experimental sofa are determined.According to the color requirements,a picture of the sofa sample for the experiment is formed.And then collects the data of different consumers' preferences for sofa color matching through the method of questionnaire survey.Afterwards,statistically analyzes these data,sum up the preferences of different groups of people on sofa color matching,and the differences caused by the gender,age,and color space distribution on the color matching preferences of sofas.In addition,using the 3ds Max software platform and its scripting language MAXScript programming tool,having developed a computer-assisted sofa color customization system for individual consumers,and the developed system was verified for operation.The main results of the study are as follows:(1)The emergence rate of the main color and auxiliary color of the sofa in the market is determined.In addition,the spatial distribution position of the auxiliary color is determined,which are as follows:cushion,pillow-cushion,chassis-backrest,chassis-backrest-cushion.(2)18-30-year-old men and women most like the sofas with main color of white-auxiliary color of coffee,main color of green-auxiliary color of black,main color of red(or coffee)-auxiliary color of neutral.And they most do not like the sofas with main color of white(or blue or coffee)-auxiliary color of green.Women do not like the sofas with main color of green-auxiliary color of red.(3)31-50-year-old and 51-70-year-old men and women like the sofas with main color of green-auxiliary color of blue,main color of red-auxiliary color of cold.They most do not like the sofas with main color of blue(or green or coffee)-auxiliary color of black.(4)51-70-year-old women most like the sofas with main color of white-auxiliary color of coffee.(5)Women of all ages prefer the sofas with main color of black-auxiliary color of neutral,and most do not like the sofas with main color of black(or red)-auxiliary color of green.Men do not like the sofas with main color of red-auxiliary color of black,and main color of black-auxiliary color of coffee.(6)For sofas with main color of white(or coffee),men and women of all age groups do not like to arrange auxiliary color on cushions and pillow.For sofas with main color of black(or green),men and women of all age groups do not like to arrange auxiliary color on chassis-backres.For sofas with main color of blue(or red),when auxiliary colors of black are used,men and women of all ages do not like to arrange auxiliary colors on cushions-pillow,and auxiliary colors of others,they do not like to configure auxiliary colors on the chassis-backrest.(7)There is a big difference in the degree of preference for sofa colors among people aged 18-30 years compared with people aged 31-50 and 51-70.The degree of preference of people in the latter two age groups is relatively close,indicating that from the age of 31,people's preference for sofa colors is relatively stable.(8)Men and women in senior age prefer the sofa with cool colors.(9)The developed of customization system of computer-assisted sofa color can also be used by consumers who have no experience of using 3ds Max and have no color theory knowledge.The satisfaction of the sofa colors which obtained by using this system is as high as93%.The system can also assist designers in selecting their favorite colors in order to designing colors of sofas.
