China implemented the strategy of developing the western region in 2006.Since then,the western region has experienced rapid economic development,but environmental problems have become increasingly severe.So the central government and local governments have increasingly standardized and strictened the formulation and implementation of environmental regulation(ER)policies.Therefore,the impact of environmental regulation in the western region on its economic development is an important issue in the analysis of the paper.Since the implementation of the policy tracking audit by the National Audit Office,the auditing efforts have been continuously increased to ensure and promote the implementation of major national policies.The national audit played a certain role in the historical process of rapid economic development and environmental governance in the western region.However,the impact of national audit implementation on the level of economic development in the western region and the impact of national policy tracking audits have promoted environmental regulation policies.The positive effects and other issues are not clear.With the theme of this paper,the impact of the implementation of environmental regulation in the western region on its economic growth,the impact of state audits on economic growth in the western region,and whether national audits have played a positive economic role in monitoring the implementation and implementation of environmental regulation policies.Theoretical analysis and empirical research were carried out in three aspects.It is of great significance for strengthening the national audit in the construction of ecological civilization in the western region.It is of great significance to promote the active and effective role of environmental regulation policies in the western region and promote the construction of resource conservation,green health and sustainable development in the western region.Based on the empirical test and the actual development of the western region,the paper draws the following conclusions: First,the environmental regulation policy has promoted the economic development of the western region,that is,the western region has got rid of the dilemma of economic growth and environmental protection,and realized the environment and The economic win-win situation;Second,the strengthening of national audit implementation is not conducive to the realization of short-term economic growth in the western region,but can significantly promote the long-term development of the western region's economy.Specifically,after the model of studying the economic development level of the western region and the national audit execution intensity lags behind three periods,the relationship between the two changes from 10% negative correlation to 10% positive correlation.In the process of accepting state auditing supervision in the western region,the more funds the state audits have investigated and dealt with in the current period,the more likely it is to curb the short-term economic growth of the regional economy,but it has significantly promoted the long-term economic development of the western region.Third,the national audit has improved the economic effects of ER in the process of tracking and supervising the implementation of ER policies.That is,the cross-multiple of national audit and ER is significantly positively correlated with the economic development of the western region at the 10% level.This means that the state audit has played an active role in supervising and controlling the impact of ER on the economic development of the western region.From the perspective of long-term development,the strengthening of national audit implementation can guarantee the promotion of national policies to achieve more effective implementation,play a more effective role,and ultimately promote the sound economic and social development of the western region,and achieve good economic effects of ER.
