Land use change is the most uncertain factor in estimating carbon storage and release from terrestrial ecosystems.Land use change affects the fixation, accumulation and release of soil and vegetation carbon in terrestrial ecosystems, which will affect the carbon cycle of the entire ecosystem and change the original carbon storage and carbon release patterns of the ecosystem. In recent years, the rapid development of the coastal region's economy has led to a further increase in the scale and intensity of coastal land development and utilization, thus affecting the carbon cycle in coastal areas. The use of land use change information to reveal the characteristics of carbon stock changes is of great significance to regional development, utilization and management. This paper compares the land use/cover change in the coastal areas of Shandong Peninsula by remote sensing image analysis, and uses meta-analysis to summarize the carbon storage parameter values of different land use/cover types in the coastal areas of Shandong Peninsula, and uses the carbon module of InVEST model to estimate the coastal areas of Shandong Peninsula.Carbon storage,a combination of the two, analyzes the impact of land use/cover change on its carbon sequestration capacity. Finally, based on the assessment results, the proposed land use planning proposals and carbon compensation proposals for the study area are proposed. The main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)The land use types in the coastal areas of Shandong Peninsula are mainly cultivated land, and construction land, grassland, woodland, coastal wetlands, freshwater wetlands and unused land are successively reduced. From 2000 to 2015,the dynamics of coastal wetlands, construction land and unused land use were higher, followed by cultivated land, grassland and freshwater wetlands, and the land use types of forest land did not change significantly.(2)The relationship between land use types in the coastal areas of Shandong Peninsula from 2000 to 2015 is obvious. The change in three periods is a process from rapid change to slow change. The proportion of forest land, cultivated land, grassland and unused land decreased, the area of construction land and freshwater wetland increased, and the proportion of construction land and coastal wetland remained basically unchanged.Cultivated land, construction land and coastal wetlands and forest land are mainly transferred out.Other types of transfer have increased the area of construction land, freshwater wetlands and unused land. The change of construction land area is the most obvious. The over-exploitation and utilization of coastal areas has caused cultivated land, grassland and coastal wetlands to be occupied as construction land. The transfer of farmland and grassland is also more significant.(3)From 2000 to 2015,the vegetation carbon storage level in the coastal areas of Shandong Peninsula showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing, and the overall pattern tends to develop well and is in the stage of carbon sink.Cultivated land and forest land are the main sources of carbon storage in the study area, and have a greater impact on the terrestrial ecosystem carbon pool in the study area. Therefore, the change of forest land and cultivated land directly affects the change of vegetation carbon storage, and strengthening the protection of forest land and cultivated land is an important means of carbon cycle in terrestrial ecosystems. From 2000 to 2015,soil carbon storage in Shandong Peninsula showed a general downward trend. The trend of soil carbon storage in most parts of Shandong Peninsula was increased along the coast and decreased inland.(4)The mutual transformation of land use type area affects the change of carbon storage. As the most important and dominant land use type, cultivated land has an important role in the change of carbon storage in coastal areas of Shandong Peninsula. The carbon stocks of different land use types are different, and the carbon storage and area of vegetation are directly proportional.Cultivated land and forest land are the main sources of carbon storage in the study area, and have a greater impact on the terrestrial ecosystem carbon pool in the study area. The soil carbon storage of cultivated land is much larger than that of forest land and grassland, mainly because the cultivated land area in the study area accounts for a large proportion, which is nearly 10 times of the forest land and grassland area, and becomes the land use type with the highest soil carbon storage with absolute advantage.Forest land has a high soil carbon density and contributes a lot to the terrestrial ecosystem carbon pool.At the same time, forests can store carbon for a long time and play an important role in the preservation of vegetation carbon storage. Therefore, focusing on the protection of forest land and cultivated land is an effective way to increase the carbon stock of terrestrial ecosystems in Shandong Peninsula.Shandong Peninsula should improve the land use type structure from the perspective of ecological construction, adjust the industrial layout, formulate a reasonable land planning plan, and promote the coordinated development of economy and natural ecology.
