In view of the growing harm from marine biofouling to marine infrastructure and ships,the most effective way is to paint marine antifouling coatings.Silyl acrylate polymer is widely used in self-polishing antifouling coatings because of the advantages containing the low heavy metal ions,the stable hydrolysis rate in seawater and friendliness to marine environment and ecosystems.However,its structure should be further optimized due to its slow self-polishing rate,poor antifouling effect at low speed and inability to effectively resist the adhesion of primary fouling organisms.In this paper,the Silyl acrylate polymer was optimized by introducing hydrophilic functional monomers,zwitterionic groups and hydrophobic functional monomers,and then adjusting the proportion of functional monomers.The main research contents are as follows:Silyl acrylate polymer is first synthesized by free radical polymerization and then made into antifouling coatings.Subsequently,the reaction temperature,functional monomer dropping time and initiator dosage are changed to investigate the effect on the properties of silane resin.The results show that the different reaction temperature has certain influence on the viscosity,contact angle and hydrolysis performance of acrylic silane resin.While the thermal stability of the Silyl acrylate polymer is barely affected by the varying parameters.The solid sea hanging board test shows that the prepared self-polishing antifouling paint has excellent antifouling effect within 11 months.The hydrophilic monomer hydroxyethyl acrylate is introduced by radical polymerization to synthesize a side chain hydroxyl group-containing Silyl acrylate polymer.The anti-fouling performance and effect of the side chain hydroxyl-containing Silyl acrylate polymer self-polishing antifouling coating are improved by adjusting the proportion of the functional monomer.Static hydrolysis soaking experiments show that the introduction of hydrophilic monomer promotes the hydrolysis of silane resin,while the hydrolyzable monomer and hydrophilic monomer play a synergistic effect on the hydrolysis performance of the matrix resin.The solid sea plate test shows that when the amount of HEA is maintained at 15%-30%,the corresponding TIPSA addition is maintained at 25%-30%.The prepared self-polishing antifouling coatings of side chain hydroxyl-containing acrylic silane resin can achieve antifouling effect in Dalian sea area for at least 11 months.Compared with the single Silyl acrylate polymer self-polishing antifouling coating,it saves cost and improves antifouling effect.The syndiotactic Silyl acrylate polymer with zwitterion is synthesized by a two-step method.First,dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate is introduced into the Silyl acrylate polymer as a functional monomer for radical polymerization,and then amphoteric acrylic silane resin with side chain was obtained by opening ring reaction of 1,3-propane sulfonate lactone.The resulting sample has strong hydrophilicity,excellent anti-protein and anti-algae adhesion properties,and the modified silane resin can resist the adhesion of primary fouling organisms.The hydrophobic monomer hexafluorobutyl methacrylate is introduced to modify the side chain containing zwitterionic Silyl acrylate polymer.Fluorine-containing amphiphilic Silyl acrylate polymer is synthesized by radical polymerization and quaternization reaction.The fluorine-containing amphiphilic Silyl acrylate polymer has good anti-protein and anti-seaweed adhesion properties,and the modified silane resin has a good and stable hydrolysis rate with the content of the fluorine-containing monomer increasing.The test results show that the fluorine-containing amphiphilic Silyl acrylate polymer self-polishing antifouling paint maintains a good antifouling effect within two.
