1n recent years, with the continuous emergence of haze n large areas of China and the continuous soaring of PM2.5 index, the air pollution problem in China is becoming more and more serious.Air pollution, also known as air pollution,is usually caused by the accumulation of harmful substances in the atmosphere caused by human activities or some natural processes.Research shows that air pollution, such as haze, can cause serious harm to human respiratory system and nervous system, cause various cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, and pose a huge threat to human survival and development. The issue of air pollution prevention and control has not only aroused the attention of the national level, but also attracted the attention of the media. With the development of mobile interconnection technology, air pollution has become an important and highly concerned topic in the media, and also the focus of research in various academic fields. The news media's reporting paradigm and framework on air pollution, the public's awareness and attitude on air pollution, the communication effect of air pollution reports, and the communication strategy of air pollution issues have been the focus of attention in the field of news communication all the time.In this study,a 2*2-group factorial design was used to explore the cross-effects of information gain and loss framework and exemplification effect on the public's perception of the severity of air pollution, attribution of responsibility, and action intention to take preventive measures and environmental protection actions when media are involved with air pollution issues. After collecting, sorting out and analyzing the experimental data of four groups and 366 subjects,it was found that air pollution issues presented in the loss framework would affect the perceived severity of air pollution of public more easily than the gain framework. On the issue of air pollution, the loss framework can effectively arouse the audience's attention to air pollution.By improving the public's awareness of the seriousness of air pollution problems, using exemplars can enhance the public's intention to prevent air pollution and intentions of taking action of environmental protection.Using exemplars in media information is found more conducive for the public to relate themselves to macro-public issues, such as climate change, and to promote the change of their behavioral decision-making.Furthermore,this study explored the impact of air pollution level of perceived severity of air pollution and behavioral decision-making intention in individual home areas, from the perspective of the theory of place attachment theory. At the end of this study, according to the research results, the narrative framework of the best communication effect of media coverage and government policy propaganda on air pollution issues is given for consideration of the policy designing.
