| Project planning and schedule management is the process of development of project schedule and tracking,monitoring and rectify of project schedule during project execution.Company B is an engineering service company which can provide project consultant,feasibility research,engineering,procurement,construction,operation and project management.Company B cracking furnace EPC project is in Middle East.Project work scopes include engineering,procurement,construction and related project management work.Planning and schedule management theory and method were used to manage project progress to achieve project objectives.This thesis describe the development of project schedule including work breakdown structure,activity logic and duration estimation,resource distribution and balance,drawing of network schedule etc by using network schedule method and P6 software based on the theory of project planning and schedule management.The background of the research is based on Company B cracking furnace EPC project in Middle East.The thesis also describe project schedule control including schedule control flow,schedule control basis,schedule control process and schedule control assurance measures.Based on the study,we found that project schedule is the basis for project planning and schedule management.We need communicate with project members closely to develop a feasible&achievable project schedule and project measurement system by using progressive software.Project schedule control is the key of project planning and schedule management.We need follow schedule control flow and monitor the schedule closely during project execution.On the other hand,some effective action need to be taken when project progress is delay to ensure project schedule is under control.Through the research on planning and schedule management of Company B cracking furnace EPC project in Middle East,this thesis suggests to develop project schedule and progress curves by using P6 software and establish progress measurement system to monitor the progress regularly and quantitatively,which has practical reference value for schedule preparation and schedule control. |
