Study On Modern Cantonese Style Furniture And Its Innovative Design

As one of the three major schools of Chinese traditional furniture,Cantonese style furniture is the most distinctive and representative regional furniture in Guangdong.In the environment of the global cultural blend overly,the culture and characteristics of the regional furniture are diluted,and people formed a misunderstanding with the culture of Cantonese style furniture.Nowadays,Guangdong's mahogany furniture market continues to slump,so the spread and development of modern Cantonese style furniture is imminent.This paper took the Cantonese style furniture as the research object.Based on the literature review,field investigation and questionnaire,this paper made a systematic investigation and analysis of the Cantonese style furniture,and systematically studied it's development and characteristics of the furniture.Summarized the basic elements of modern Cantonese style furniture's innovation and cultural connotation,to clarify the modern Cantonese style furniture spiritual lineage,summarizing the design principles of modern Cantonese style furniture,to provide ideas for the development and innovation of modern Cantonese style furniture.The main findings are as follows:(1)Cantonese style furniture in the Ming Dynasty was still in its infancy,absorbing a large number of Central Plains culture.Modern Cantonese style furniture pursuit of simple atmosphere and balanced coordination,but the furniture was relatively simple form,and the design of comfort and functionality was lacking.Cantonese style furniture in the Q ing Dynasty was in the peak period,the furniture manufacturing process to reach the pinnacle of the state,the production of sophisticated,luxurious decorative themes,bold introduction of western style furniture culture.But at the same time it has some shortcomings,like carved timber waste,redundancy and so on.During the period of the Republic of China,Cantonese style furniture from steady development to gradually decline.It made some change,like in the use of the line became more gentle,decorative themes more westernized,but the limitations are bigger.Through the comparison of the basic elements of Cantonese style furniture in three periods,we can see that the development of the traditional furniture is the different life demand under the changing of the times(2)The development of modern Cantonese style furniture is to carry forward the local cultural characteristics of Guangdong,so as to solve the revival of traditional culture as well as to meet the needs of the modern consumer fashion trends of the contradiction between the two.Modern Cantonese style furniture is to carry forward the Guangdong local cultural characteristics,to solve complex in science and technology,economy,culture and the rapid development of the environment,and it has wide cultural foundation,excellent material foundation,technical support and innovation,by industry and the development of good support.Based on the investigation and analysis of consumers' cognition of modern Cantonese style furniture,modern Cantonese style furniture should be located in high-end elegant,simple fashion,function innovation,and the proportion of C hinese and western is 3 : 7,appearance and function of the ratio of 6 : 4,application proportion the traditional elements and modern elements should be close to 1 : 1.(3)Modern Cantonese style furniture based on the traditional culture,focus on innovative design,reasonable selection of materials and the use of simplified structure optimization,decoration style,pay attention to the appearance of furniture and a good grasp of functional furniture,clarify its cultural origin,in order to reduce the production cost,improve production efficiency,to adapt to the modern way the development of the industry.(4)This paper summarized the design principles of modern Cantonese style furniture,and carried out innovative design on the basis of these principles.Through the description of the concept of ideas,detailing the use of techniques to illustrate the design process of the case,and presented the overall effect diagram.Strive to fully reflected the design innovation of modern Cantonese style furniture in the design case,helping to design a more cultural characteristics,a higher degree of identification,to meet the needs of modern social life of modern Cantonese style furniture.
