In recent years, environmental pollution has gradually become a hot social issue, among which air pollution is the most serious. Now it has become a big problem that people can’t ignore. So it is an important and urgent task in urban construction and development to correctly analyze the air quality in the region and effectively control the pollution of air. This study used the daily air quality index data of 20 air quality monitoring points in Wuhan from January 2016 to March 2018,the monthly meteorological data of Wuhan and the regional economic data of each administrative region in 2016 to explore the spatial and temporal characteristics of the air quality in Wuhan and its influencing factors. And some feasible suggestions on controlling air pollution in Wuhan are put forward according to the results of the study. In this study,a variety of multivariate statistical analysis methods are used.Finding the spatial and temporal characteristics of the air quality in Wuhan by statistical analysis and cluster analysis,Analyzing the influence of the meteorological factors and human activity factors by correlation analysis, the establishment of multiple regression models and the sensitivity analysis. The main results are as follows:(1)The paper summarized that the air quality and the composition and performance of the main pollutants at the present stage of Wuhan, the main pollutant is PM 2.5,the O3 and NO2 pollution were also serious, and the temporal characteristics of air quality and the concentration level of contaminants were explained from different granularity(annual, seasonal and monthly). It is found that the main pollution of Wuhan in summer is O3 pollution. That in winter is PM2.5 pollution, the fluctuation of PM2.5,O3 and SO2 concentration in the whole year is more intense. The spatial difference of the air quality of different monitoring points is explored. At the same time,it is found that the air quality of adjacent administrative area is similar by cluster analysis.(2)Air temperature, sunshine hours and rainfall all affect the level of pollutant concentration in the air.PM2.5 and O3 are most affected by meteorological conditions.the sunshine hours mainly influence the level of O3 concentration. The air quality ismainly related to the amount of precipitation, not the number of rainy days.In all meteorological conditions, rainfall has the strongest effect on pollutant removal.Every aspects of human activities affect air quality. The main factors are land acreage, population density, regional development factors(including economic development level and urbanization level),industrial structure and various production activities(including industrial emission, development and construction). Finally, according to the research conclusions, this paper puts forward the policy suggestions for controlling the air pollution in Wuhan, which can be used as reference for the future air pollution control work of Wuhan environmental protection department, and has certain significance to improve the air quality in Wuhan.
