As one of the oldest woody plant that used for producing edible oil,Camellia has been used for a over 2000 years.Besides Camellia seeds oil,Camellia seed contains Tea Saponin,flavones and amylase,which have antibacterial properties,so Camellia could be used as food preservative.This issue used Camellia seeds which picked from 8 different province.In the experiment,their antibacterial properties were tested.Petroleum ether,ether,Ethyl acetate,acetone,Ethanol and water were used to extract the active ingredients from Camellia seeds.The average extraction rate of different solvent are 37.88%、6.02%、0.68%、0.85%、13.31%、9.22%respectively.The E.coli,Staphylococcus aureus,Bacillus subtilis and Aspergillus fumigatus were used in antibacterial test for extracts.In the result,Ethanol extract from the Camellia seeds picked from Jianning Fujian and water extract from the Camellia seeds picked from Quzhou Zhejiang could could significantly restrain bacteria growth.In the antibacterial test for the Ethanol extract,The diameters of sterile rings were 8.27mm,8.76mm,7.02mm,8.90mm respectively.In the antibacterial test for the water extract,The diameter of sterile rings are 7.53mm,8.19mm,8.52mm,7.81mm respectively.Purified the above two extracts by using column chromatography.Using Ethanol solution as eluent,Concentrationes were 25%,50%,75%,95%.After enrichment,tested their the properties of different concentracts.In the antibacterial test,the concentrates in 25%ethanol solution purified from Ethanol extract and the concentrate in 25%ethanol solution purified from water extract could significantly restrain bacteria growth.The diameter of sterile rings of the concentrate in 25%ethanol solution purified from Ethanol extract were 6.76mm,11mm,9.42mm,9.96mm respectively.The diameter of sterile rings of the concentrate in 25%ethanol solution purified from water extract were 7.53mm,8.19mm,8.52mm,7.81mm respectively.By HPLC-MS,four kinds of flavonoid glycosides were identified and obtained from the two concentrates above,named Kaempferol-3-O-[2-0-β-D-glucopyranosyl-6-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-yl]-(3-glucopyranoside,Kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyra-nosyl(1→4)-a-L-rhamnopyranoside,Kaempferol-3-O-[2-0-β-D-xylopyranosyl-6-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-yl]-β-glucopyranoside,Kaempferol-3-O-a-L-rhamnopyranos-yl-group(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside.
