Injection mold as an indispensable modern industrial production equipment,which has a wide range of applications and rapid development of the future.In the modern industry,which pursues constant innovation,new products are more and more frequent replacement,it is put forward higher requirements to mold design and manufacturing efficiency.shorting mold design and manufacturing cycle and improving production efficiency are essential to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.As the necessary process of injection mold processing,EDM occupy about half of the entire mold design and manufacturing cycle.Therefore,improving the key technologies in mold EDM is of great significance to shorten the design and manufacturing cycle of mold.This subject mainly studies two important aspects of die EDM: tool electrode design and EDM processing time prediction.Tool electrode design process is complicated and numerous,the traditional manual design method time-consuming and labor-intensive,seriously affecting the mold design and manufacturing efficiency,prolonging the design cycle;Accurately estimating the EDM time is of great importance to the reasonable arrangement of the die making cycle.However,the lack of a scientific estimation tool now seriously affects the manufacturing cycle.In response to the above problems,this paper carried out the following aspects of research:? Research injection mold tool electrode universal design method,design flow and the related process in EDM,summarize the structure rule of discharge surface,reasonably summarize and classify the electrode of injection mold tool,according to the manual design experience of various types of surface Corresponding feasible automation design scheme and process,compiling electrode automatic design algorithm,developing tool electrode automatic design module.To achieve rapid automatic tool electrode design,improve design efficiency.? Conduct EDM test,understand the relationship between EDM results and processing time,determine the factors that affect the processing time in the actual production of the enterprise,make a reasonable and scientific estimation method of working hours,develop the enterprise-specific EDM hours forecasting module for enterprises,provide scientific working hours forecasting tools.The above two modules are based on UG 4.0 and UG 8.5 software platform,using NX Open secondary development tools and Visual Studio 2010 integrated development platform developed to form the injection mold CAD / CAM system.Using injection mold CAD / CAM system significantly reduce the injection mold design and manufacturing cycle,improving efficiency and bringing long-term benefits to the enterprise.
