Mold is a basis equipment for industrial production, its design level will largely determine the quality of products and affect the competiveness of the enterprise. In recent years, due to the accelerating pace of product renewal and the shortening market cycle of new product, the requirement of mold delivery time is getting shorter. Therefore, under the condition of cost and quality control, how to reduce mold development cycle and improve the design efficiency has become a key issue of current mold manufacturing technology. With the rapid development of information technology, various types of mold design software are developed, CAD technology is widely used in mold design in recent years. Therefore, the use of CAD technology for mold design will have an important role in promoting the development of the whole manufacturing industry. However, currently, most CAD software are developed focus on the pursuit of general common use, rather than for certain targeted applications. For Mold design industry, it is only the application of geometric modeling that was usually used, which have limited the application of CAD technology in the mold industry. This work aims to promote the standardization of modular design of products and molds, the development of CAD software, establish the specialized mold design platform and improve the efficiency and the automation level of mold design.Development of a typical three-dimensional mold parts database based on UG/ Mold Wizard module includes typical standardized component, regulate standardization on the mold gating system, forming system, cooling system, lifter system, ejection system, slider system and peripheral systems parts. The aim of the work above is to build a database with standard parts and components whose parameters are adjustable, and to achieve a substantial increase in design efficiency. The use of UG/OPEN API function for secondary development tool includes:the mold size calculation tools, molding and cooling analysis tools, and tool design efficiency improvement tools. Through the application of the secondary development tools, the reasonable design of the mold is ensured and the multi-step operation command is integrated into one tool to improve design efficiency. The mold CAD design platform and database development includes five parts:mold design CAD software development, stacked/double injection mold CAD/CAE integration system development, stacked/double injection mold motion simulation module development, mold injection molding technology platform, and mold line parallel design system. Construction of laminated/color mold design platform and database will help us improve the design efficiency.The design of mold intelligent interface module is studied in this work, it mainly includes:product interface platform and three-dimensional CAD database, mold standard part interfaces and three-dimensional CAD knowledge, processing technology and process standards platform. The details of the injection mold intelligent development process which includes data collection,3D model design and NX template configuration is introduced in details. |
