This article focuses on the research of the empress image in the Song dynasty through two systems:the writing system and the image system.The details in the remaining images of the Song empresses do not correspond with the writing records.In this article,these two records systems are carefully examined:the writing system reflects the traditional moral value of Confucian,while the image system is more vivid and up-to-date.After a context study of the Song court and the royal family,the details on the tiara of Song empress suggests a influence of Daoism;and the circular flowers as a pattern allied with the colorful pheasant on the symbolic Confucian attire Huiyi since The Chou Rituals,suggests a influence of Buddhism,together,the attired Song empress could be seem as a visual expression of Neo-Confucian in the Song Dynasty.
