Fuzzy ball is a kind of water-based micro-bubble system developed on the basis of polymers and surfactants imitating the structure of fuzzy bacteria.Although it has excellent performance in controlling water production while maintaining and improving oil production in petroleum industry,the forming process of the fuzzy ball is not clear at present.By studying the physical and chemical properties of the main compositions of the fuzzy ball and laboratory microscopy observation of the fuzzy ball prepared by different adding orders,the research is aimed to figure out the forming process of the fuzzy ball.By studying the physical and chemical properties of the main compositions of the fuzzy ball,it is believed that the fuzzy ball is formed by the wedge cooperation effect of alcohols,polymers and surfactants,in which the gas core of the fuzzy ball is formed by surfactant,the layers of the fuzzy ball is formed by polymers and surfactants,and the membranes of the fuzzy ball is formed by alcohols.The function of four major additives of the fuzzy ball-nucleating agent,membrane agent,layering agent,fuzzy agent-is studied by laboratory microscopy observation of the fuzzy ball prepared in different adding orders.Research results showed that the gas core and surface tension reducing membrane are formed by nucleating agent,high-viscosity aqueous layer and concentration transition layer of polymer and surfactant are formed by layering agent,water-soluble meliorative membrane and the fixing membrane of the high-viscosity aqueous layer are formed by membrane agent,while the fuzzy agent increases the viscosity of the fuzzy ball system.During the preparing process,the adding order of the additives has an apparent effect on the stability of the fuzzy ball system.The optimal adding orders are “fuzzy agent,layering agent,membrane agent,nucleating agent” and “layering agent,fuzzy agent,membrane agent,nucleating agent”.Under the two preparing order,the minimum volume of the fuzzy ball system were achieved,indicating the most stable status of the fuzzy ball system.In the preparing order of “fuzzy agent,layering agent,membrane agent,nucleating agent”,a high-viscosity aqueous system with polymers and surfactants is formed at first,and then the viscosity of the system is increased.Afterwards,water-soluble meliorative membrane and the fixing membrane of the high-viscosity aqueous layer are formed.Finally,the gas core and surface tension reducing membrane are formed.In the preparing order of “layering agent,fuzzy agent,membrane agent,nucleating agent”,the viscosity of the system is increased at first,and then high-viscosity aqueous layer and concentration transition layer of polymer and surfactant are formed.Afterwards,water-soluble meliorative membrane and the fixing membrane of the high-viscosity aqueous layer are formed.Finally,the gas core and surface tension reducing membrane are formed.This study basically confirmed the "One Core–Two Membranes–Three Layers" structure of the fuzzy ball: gas core,surface tension reducing membrane,high-viscosity aqueous layer,fixing membrane of the high-viscosity aqueous layer,water-soluble meliorative membrane and concentration transition layer of polymer and surfactant.However,the mechanical forming mechanism of the "One Core–Two Membranes–Three Layers" structure of the fuzzy ball remains to be further studied.
