| BackgroudIn recent years, with the rapid development of medical diagnosis and treatment technology, the subjects of using radiation technology to diagnose and treat diseases have been extended from the previous single radiology department to the department of cardiology, orthopedics, urology, oncology, radiotherapy nuclear medicine and many clinical departments; Thus, the number of radiographers exposed to low doses of ionizing radiation has increased significantly. As we all know,long-term exposure to low-dose ionizing radiation can cause corresponding positive changes in the skin of hands.chromosomes, and lens of the radiographers.Studies have shown that the average annual dose of radiographers in Shandong Province is 0.44-0.52mSv/a.Although radiographers personally bear a small risk of exposure and exposure to low doses of ionizing radiation does not cause acute radiation damage,radiation-based random effects are effects that originate from single cell damage and are characterized by the absence of a dose threshold, meaning the severity of which is independent of dose size while the probability of injury is dose relate. In addition to the increasingly intense work,work-family role conflicts, medical radiographers may be exposed to continuous or intermittent overdose equivalents. Therefore, the health status of radiographers in medical institutions is of greater concern.ObjectivesThis study used the physical examination data of radiographers to analyze the health status of radiographers in medical institutions in Shandong Province and its influencing factors. Then we proposed relevant suggestions to improve the relevant systems and measures for hospital administrators and provided a reference basis to better protect the health of radiographers.MethodsThis study used a multi-stage random sampling method for sampling and the physical examination results of medical radiographers in Shandong Province were collected and classified by the following five influencing factors, gender, age, work histories, work types and work unit levels.By deeply analysis of the health indexes influenced by the five factors,we ultimately defined the relationship between the five factors we were concerned and the health status of medical radiographers in Shandong Province. The investigation method was used to investigate, collect and organize the physical examinations results of medical radiographers of Shandong Province and the document analysis method was used to investigate the health status of medical radiographers in China. Then the actual health status of medical radiographers in Shandong Province was evaluated comprehensively through the above investigation and analysis results. The statistical analysis was performed on SPSS18.0 and Excel2007 software.Count data was processed by x2 testand represented by n(%).Measurement data was processed by t test and represented by mean and standard deviation(x ±s).P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Main Results1.Analysis of relationship between gender and health status of medical radiographersMale radiographers had a significantly higher abnormal rate(P<0.05)than female in blood pressure, eye lens, hemoglobin(Hb),gamma glutamyl transferase(GGT),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),white ball ratio, renal function, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein,ECG conduction block and B-ultrasound examinations.Female radiographers had a significantly higher abnormal rate(P<0.05)than male in white blood cells and high density lipoprotein.2.Analysis of relationshipbetween age and health status of medicalradiographersMedical radiographers showed an increasing trend in blood pressure, eye lens,skin,electrocardiogram,B-ultrasound(fatty liver and liver, kidney cyst),uric acid, urinary creatinine, blood glucose, and blood lipids with increasing age.The difference between different groups was significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in abnormal rates of chromosome, blood routine.liver function and partial renal function(P>0.05).3.Analysis of relationship between work types and health status of medicalradiographersThere were significant differences in blood pressure, eye lens, aspartate aminotransferase(AST),blood glucose, blood lipids, electrocardiogram and B-ultrasound between medical radiographers of different work types(P<0.05).Other items showed no significant differences(P>0.05).It is worth noting that most medical radiographers working in nuclear medicine have higher examination results than other radiographers.4.Analysis of relationship between work histories and health status of medicalradiographersThe blood pressure and eye lens abnormalities of medical radiographers tended to increase with the increase of working histories, and the results tended to be consistent with the general population.Urine creatinine, blood lipids(except high density lipoprotein cholesterol),ECG and abnormal rates of B-ultrasound showed significant difference(P<0.05)among different groups while chromosomes, blood routine, liver function and blood glucose showed no significant difference(P>0.05).5.Analysis of relationship between work unit levels and health status ofmedicalradiographersWith the increase of the hospital level, the abnormal rate of blood pressure, chromosome, hemoglobin and y-glutamyltransferase(GGT)of medical radiographers showed a decreasing trend, and the differences among the groups were significant(P<0.05),while the renal function, blood glucose and blood lipid abnormal rate showed an increasing trend, and the differences among the groups were significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences and regularity between ECG and B-ultrasound abnormal rate(P>0.05).ConclusionsThe study found that the health status of the medical radiographers in Shandong Province were generally good and basically within a reasonable range. It is worth noting that the health examination abnormal rate of male is significantly higher than that of female, and medical radiographers working in nuclear medicine have a higher chance of abnormal health examinations. There are more physical examinations abnormalities with increasing age, work histories and work unit levels.SuggestionsEarnestly implement the radiological protection training to medical radiographers and strengthen the protection of key personnel in radiology department.Increase the health investment of primary hospitals and update the radiological equipment.A health management information platform for medical radiographers should be established to provide a reasonable basis for medical institutions and health administrative department to carry out radiological protection work and make decisions. |
