Research On Shower Chair For The Old People On The Perspective Of Humanism Care

The problem of population aging,population high aging and family become “empty nest”is increasingly prominent.In this context,how to care for the old and how to provide convenience products and service facilities to improve their life quality is the responsibility and common concern of the whole society.Bathing is a way of life for people to clean their body.For the old,bathing can help them keep fit.It plays an important role in preventing body from disease and promoting metabolism.However,bathing has become a difficult thing for the old due to the failure of their sensory organ,action and cognitive ability.They may have many problems when taking a shower,like blurred vision,lack of oxygen,the dim light.They may also slip to the ground for long time standing,which may cause physical and psychological damage.The shower chair is a kind of sitting tool that can support the body when the old taking a shower.It can put a good assistant effect on bath-safety.This paper will study on elderly people and shower-chair on the basis of universal design from the perspective of humanity.We will study how to embody the humanity in the design of shower-chair to helping the old when they are taking a shower and to improve the practicability and the quality of user experience.In this paper,we defined the conception of the senior people,analyzed their physical and psychological characteristics and studied the current design statue of the products for the old.And then we get the key points of design,discuss how to care for the elderly mentally and physically and represent the positive significance of social care-type products.We will study the classification and feature of shower chair,summarize the existing problem,analyze the chair by the method of SET,and after the research on the theory of ergonomics and sitting posture,we will get some design points at last.After those,we can summarized some design considerations and design principles.Then,we will carry out concrete design practice.We will optimize the existing problem of the shower chair,verify the rationality of our design principle and theory research and then provide experience for similar products.This paper takes the physical and psychological care for disadvantaged group as innovative spots.The shower chair can not only meets the needs of normal people but can take care of the old.It also can help the senior people take a shower like normal people without the help of others,making them feel respect and equality mentally.Last,the paper will show the significance of the spread of shower chair.It can promote the development and perfection of the old-centered bathroom market and realize the generalization of family bathroom.
