Research On Design Of Senior Bathroom Products Based On Universal Design

In recent years,the ageing of our country has gradually deepened.Most elderly people choose to take care of their families at home.Bathroom space is the most frequently visited place in daily life for elderly people.According to statistics,most of the accidents in which elderly people die in the bathroom every year in China.It is caused by the irrationality of sanitary products,which threatens the life safety of the elderly.This project aims to solve the problems of existing home bathroom products,which is of great significance to the elderly’s senior life.The research focuses on the physiological characteristics,psychological characteristics,body size,and range of activities of the elderly,analyzes the changes in vision,hearing,touch,physical function,and thinking ability of the elderly,and explores their physiological needs,and explores the physiological effects of these changes on the psychology.Impact.Analyze the relationship between the ergonomics of the elderly and bathroom products,confirm the dimensional parameters of the elderly,the size of the wheelchair,select the 5th and 95 th percentiles of the body size,and analyze the bones of the elderly Features and summarized the range of motion of each joint,providing theoretical and data basis for this study.Field surveys and behavior simulation experiments were used to summarize the obstacles encountered by the elderly when using bathroom products.Based on the current situation of bathroom space,product use,and existing products on the market,the survey results are analyzed to obtain the design needs of the elderly.Design behavior simulation experiments on toilet behavior and bathing behaviors of the elderly at different stages,obtain data on behavioral activities and posture transformation of the elderly,analyze behavior characteristics of the elderly,obstacles encountered by the elderly in the toilet and bathing,and find solutions method.Based on ergonomics and universal design theory,five design principles for the design of household bathroom products for the elderly are proposed: safety principles,tolerance principles,ease of use principles,flexibility principles,and comfort principles.For each of the proposed principles,a safe,inclusive,easy-to-use,and flexible design strategy is summarized.Under the guidance of the universal design theory,the practical application case design was carried out for the overall planning of the bathroom space,the washing area,the toilet area,and the bathing area.To improve the versatility of sanitary products,so that the elderly can live healthily in their old age.
