The Technical View And Methodology Significance Of Ecological Marxism

After the Second World War,the rapid development of technology had promoted the prosperity of the global economy.Moreover,it had caused serious ecological crisis.In many fields,such as agriculture,industry,transportation and energy industry had been filled with environmental pollution and ecological destruction.Facing the increasingly serious ecological problems,different scholars have been interpreting and putting forward the countermeasures from different perspectives.From them,Ecological Marxism is a crack force.Ecological Marxism scholars have inherited the Marx's alienation thought and critical thinking.To figure out the nature of technology and the relationship between technology and the original cause of ecological crisis,Ecological Marxism had closely linked technological criticism with institutional criticism.From the technology view,they had launched a fierce criticism on the capitalist system.They put forward a profound and forward-looking point of view that the capitalist use of technology is the original cause of capitalist ecological crisis.The paper is divided into three parts.The first part,the concept of technology and technology view.This paper expounds the problems of whether the technology has the clear definition or the essence and the classification of the technology view.In the second part,This paper summarizes the technology views of Ecological Marxism in different periods and different stages.Mainly include: technology is the means for human to " control nature",technology is the condition of promoting "alienated labor","the capitalism use of technology " is the original cause of the ecological crisis,and summarized respectively.In the third part,this paper expounds the methodological significance of the technology view derived from Ecological Marxism's technology view.The innovation of this paper lies in: taking technology as the main line,this paper first summarizes the definition of technology and technology.By analyzing its theoretical deficiencies,the author concludes that technology is essentially a kind of human activity that transforms nature and produces tangible and intangible products;Based on the analysis of four kinds of technology view as the foundation,the author proposed that the Ecological Marxism's technology view belongs to the critical theory of technology.Moreover,as the original cause of ecological crisis,the capitalist use of technology is anti natural,anti economic and anti democratic.Finally,this paper expounds the methodological significance of the technology view derived from Ecological Marxism's technology view.That is,the basic principles to be followed when we use the technology: First of all,the development of technology should be based on the principle of ecological priority;Secondly,the ultimate goal and motive force of the development of technology is the understanding of the needs of human beings;Finally,the development of technology can not only focus on the interests of individuals or small groups,but should cover the common interests of mankind.This article needs to be improved: because of the relatively new theory of the methodological significance of Ecological Marxism's technology view,it is necessary to enhance the persuasiveness of it.
