The Application Practice Of The Karesansui Culture In Furniture Design

The Karesansui is a miniature garden landscape created by the adaptation of Chinese classical gardens to the conditions of Japan after they were introduced into Japan.It is a kind of garden based on the epiphany thought of Zen Buddhism.Besides its own ornamental qualities,it is also a sacred place for people to do Zen meditation and self-discipline activities.With the rapid development of society and economy today,people begin to pursue spiritual life on the basis of great satisfaction in material life.People combine the culture of Karesansui with the characteristics of practicing Buddhism and self-discipline with furniture design,aiming to expect this furniture form of cultural significance to influence and change people's moods,thus playing the role of self-cultivation.This paper mainly uses furniture as a design carrier to develop,conducts a large number of surveys and investigations on Karesansui through literature materials,summarizes design keywords,extracts cultural elements,and integrates cultural elements and furniture implements to conduct styling design according to the corresponding principles and methods,and comprehensively analyzes the corresponding points between the final design results and culture,thus demonstrating the practical significance of the paper.There are many papers written about Zen furniture,and Zen is an abstract concept in these papers.Karesansui is a concrete embodiment of Zen culture,and this paper takes this concrete cultural form as an entry point to explore the Zen sensation of the Karesansui in the furniture,and design and produce the material object,to achieve the dual convey of its cultural and spirituality.
