We quantitatively evaluated the ecological carrying capacity of the eastern urban agglomeration in Qinghai province based on the study of ecological carrying capacity at home and abroad.Urban ecosystem in the eastern Qinghai province in 2000,2005,2010 and 2015 was studied separately.The state space method coupled with ArcGIS software were used to analyze the social ecological carrying capacity,economic ecological carrying capacity,and environmental ecological carrying capacity of the eastern urban agglomeration in Qinghai province.In addition,we also conducted a comprehensive study on the ecological carrying capacity of these three subsystems.The results of the analysis of the social ecological carrying capacity showed that the social ecological carrying capacity of all cities was overloaded in 2000,among which Minhe and Huzhu were the most serious.In 2005 and 2010,the social ecological carrying capacity of all cities was still overloaded,but it was lower than that in 2000.It was worth noting that the social ecological carrying capacity of each city was continuously improving.The social ecological carrying capacity of Huangzhong County was relatively high in 2010.The main reason was that the proportion of non-agricultural population in Huangzhong County increased rapidly in this year,which further aggravated the pressure on the city's social carrying capacity.In 2015,the social ecological carrying capacity of Xining had become bearable due to the implementation of circular economy.The social ecological carrying capacity of the urban agglomeration in eastern Qinghai was continuously improving,and was constantly approaching the ideal social carrying capacity from 2000 to 2015.Analysis of economic ecological carrying capacity showed that the ecological carrying capacity of the economic subsystems of each city located in the eastern urban agglomeration of Qinghai province was relatively large,and some indicators had largely surpassed the ideal value of sustainable development.However,the overall economic and ecological carrying capacity increased continuously from 2000 to 2015,and the bearing value was continuously approaching the ideal bearing value,which indicated that the economic ecological carrying capacity of each city was continuously improving and optimizing.In terms of environmental ecological carrying capacity,the ecological carryingpressure of the environmental subsystems of the eastern urban agglomeration are relatively large.Most of them are overloaded,and some indicators even exceed the ideal state of sustainable development.However,the bearing capacity of other cities continued to increase with the development of the economy as well as the transformation and upgrading of the industry.In 2015,the environmental ecological carrying capacity of Xining and Huangzhong County far exceeded the ideal bearing value.The main reason was that the population of these two cities was increasing and the area of cultivated land was decreasing.In addition,the bearing capacity of the remaining cities was close to the ideal bearing value.Analysis of comprehensive ecological capacity showed that the eastern urban agglomeration was overloaded in 2000,2005,2010 and 2015.Some indicators were far more than the ideal state of sustainable development,and had great pressure on ecological carrying capacity.However,with the development of economy,advancement of science and technology,and the implementation of the strategy of the Qinghai provincial government's ecologically strong province,the ecological carrying capacity of the eastern urban agglomerations of Qinghai Province decreased from0.726 in 2000 to 0.3532 in 2015,which was continuously approaching the ideal value of 0.2941.At the same time,this situation also indicated that the ecological carrying capacity of the eastern urban agglomeration in Qinghai province was continuously optimized and increased.
