Small and medium manufacturing enterprises make an important part of national economy in China.Now,with the popularity of modern management,more and more small and medium manufacturing enterprises need to apply ERP projects to improve their management status,improve the competitiveness of the enterprises,and break through their own development bottleneck,realize the upgrade of enterprise management.But ERP project is a complicated systematic engineering,Due to the large difficulty of the ERP deployment,with the addition of the capital limitation and insufficient management,the effect and benefit of ERP application in small and medium enterprises are not significant[1].How to solve the problem in the ERP project,improve the successful rate of the ERP project and then improve the whole effectiveness of the enterprises,has become a practical problem before us.In this paper,Through the research approaches of literature search,theoretical approach and empirical analysis,we expounds the basic concepts of ERP,the history of ERP development and the management mode.Under the background of the manufacturing industry upgrade in China,we explain the current situation and existing problems of small and medium manufacturing enterprises in our country,discuss the necessity and feasibility of the small and medium manufacturing enterprises to implement ERP project.Combined with the specific situation of small and medium manufacturing enterprises in China,with S paint company ERP application project as an sample,we study the strategies and methods to solve the practical problems when the enterprises import ERP project,and the solutions of the problem when combining the ERP system with the old management system in the process of ERP deployment.Through the analysis of ERP project in enterprise material management,production operation and cost management,and other aspects of application[2],this paper discusses the basic mode when small and medium enterprises implement ERP project,and the economic benefit enterprises obtained.At the same time,in this paper we analyze the key success factors of S paint company to implement ERP project,provide a good example for other similar enterprises in our country to choose the correct mode and implementation strategy when they import ERP project.
