The air pollution in our country is very serious and received widespread attention in recent years. It has seriously endangered our daily healthy life and also affected the healthy and sustainable development of China’s economy. In view of the rapid economic development but the increasingly serious environmental pollution, how to promote the harmonious development of the environment and economy has become a serious issue. At present, many scholars have studied the impact of environmental pollution on economic development.Air pollution is an integral part of environmental pollution.Labor productivity is an indicator of the level of economic development.Air pollution must also influence labor productivity by the transmission machine. Our country is vast.Different regions have different economic resources because of different resource endowments.Labor productivity is a comprehensive indicator, which is influenced by many factors,so it is likely to be affected by factors in neighboring regions while being affected by local factors. Therefore, the paper combines geographical factors to explore the spatial effects of air pollution on labor productivity. The article first analyzes the current status of air pollution and labor productivity and then combines the theory of environmental economy and healthy human capital to analyze the mechanisms of air pollution on labor productivity;Second, using the Moran Index to test the spatial correlation of labor productivity.Using data from 29 provinces from 2003 to 2015 and spatial metrology methods to analyze the spatial effects of different types of air pollutants on labor productivity; Finally, according to the results of theoretical and empirical analysis, make relevant policy recommendations.Nowadays, air pollution is a major environmental problem. How to promote the harmonious development of the environment and economy is currently the priority for the government and society.Through the above analysis, completing related research, understanding the air pollution and labor productivity situation of various provinces and the mechanism between them.At the same time, providing some theoretical basis for local governments to formulate policies for increase labor productivity. The main conclusions of the paper are as follows:First, the labor productivity has a large difference among provinces and obviously spatial effect.Second, exhaust gas, sulfur dioxide and smoke dust have a negative effect on labor productivity. However, waste gas and sulfur dioxide in neighboring areas have positive effect on local labor productivity. What’s more, smoke pollution has no significant effect on local labor productivity.Third,Regional labor productivity is affected by many other factors, such as labor capital, technology, education, labor income. All of them have a positive effect on labor productivity. However, the aging of labor has a reverse effect on labor productivity. |
