Due to the rapid economic growth,China has experienced very severe air pollution. The respiratory health effects of air pollution have attracted great attention of the academic community. In this study,we collected the air pollution data and the outpatient visits for respiratory diseases data, and analyzed their characteristics of different time periods. Then,a Generalized Linear Model(GLM),using time-series regression analysis with the family of Poisson distribution and natural splines(ns),was used to examine the short-term association between air pollutants(PM2.5,PM10,SO2,NO2,CO and 8h-O3)and respiratory diseases outpatient visits, after adjusting for seasonal trend, meteorological factors, public holidays and day of weeks(DOW).In addition, considering that currently research is mostly limited to a single pollutant model, though there were multi-pollutant models but were limited three-pollutant models, not fully considering the health effects of various pollutants in the atmosphere. The innovated research of the study was focus on the relationship between air quality index(AQI,AAQI and HAQI)and respiratory diseases outpatient visits.Stratified by seasonality, sex and age,our study obtains the following results:The trend of PM10,PM2.5,SO2,NO2,and CO of the air pollutants during the study period was roughly the same, but the trend of 8h-O3 was different from them. The concentrations of daily PM10 and PM2.5 were high and exceed the standards, but the concentrations of SO2,NO2,CO and 8h-O3 were under the standards. The effects of air pollution were more evident in the cool season than in the warm season.Females were more vulnerable to air pollution. The elderly people in the age group of 60+ year-olds were more sensitive to air pollution. In terms of six main atmospheric pollutants, and the influence of different groups of respiratory disease outpatient visits can be summed up as SO2>NO2>PM2.5>PM10.The sensitivity of the whole population to the air quality index in different time periods is different, but in general can be summarized as AQI>AAQI.
