It has turned out through research studies and actual practices that the waterflowing coal roof accidents have something to do with the damage of overburden strata movement and the height of water flowing fractured zone.We herein study the waterflowing coal roof in order to render methods for latter prevention and for safety in production which are indeed of vital significance. In this paper, the author studies the water aquifers within different districts of Merlin Temple coal-mining area 3-1#with Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation.Besides, the author builds a three-dimensional numerical model based on geological conditions of the first mining area and gives nulerical simulation about 3-1#mining caving fissure zone development with the use of software program FLAC3d.The simulation results, together with the traditional empirical formula, can show us the contour map of the distribution for better dividing areas according to their various safety factors. On the basis of water richness within the 3-1#coal roof aquifers and the safety factors of different districts,we can better grasp the comprehensive waterflowing coal roof conditions and know their due danger. Thus we can forecast 3-1#coal roof water inflow by using the "Big Well Method".Through doing all these efforts,we aim to facilitate a better understanding of the hydrogeological conditions in the mine areas and provide some basic information about hydrogeological conditions for a much safer coal mine production in the near future.
