Hydro-energy draws much attention as a clean and renewable energy.Hydraulic turbine is a machine which is used for transferring hydro-energy into electric energy.The rate of energy transfer has respect to the efficiency of hydraulic turbine,and the safety of hydro power plant depends on the hydraulic stability.So the efficiency and hydraulic stability are two important parameters which are used for estimating hydraulic turbine.The performance of proto-type turbine can be calculated by similar transformation through carrying out model test with scaled model-type.So model test plays a significant role in hydraulic turbine research.A model hydraulic turbine test stand consists of three systems: closed pipe loop water system,electric control system and data acquisition system.Electric control system is used for setting and adjusting test operation conditions by controlling the rotational speed of motors of pump and dynamometer,the states of valves and other electrical equipments.Data acquisition system(DAQ system)is responsible for acquiring,calculating and analyzing data of model turbine under test.In this article,the requires and principle of mode test is introduced in detail,and then the analysis of test methods with which main parameters of model test can be obtained and require of accuracy are presented.A automatic test system of model hydraulic turbine test stand is designed based on that by hardware selection and software programming for both electric control system and DAQ system.NI Lab VIEW DCS toolkit is used for developing user interface of electric control system and STEP7 for PLC programming,which can control pump motor,dynamotor,all the valves and other electrical equipments.DAQ system hardware platform is built based on NI PXI DAQ cards and c DAQ modules,and NI Lab VIEW is also used for developing DAQ software.DAQ system achieves the functions of acquiring,calculating,analyzing and saving data which can meet the need of all model tests.In additional,the two systems are integrated into one automatic test system by using hardware and software interfaces.And efficiency test and pressure fluctuation test can be carried out automatically.The accuracy of test system meet the demands of IEC60193:1999 by error analysis.The test results of automatic efficiency and pressure fluctuation tests are perfect fit with that acquired manually during acceptance test witnessed and checked by experts.The research of automatic test system of model hydraulic turbine test stand integrates two separated system into one successfully,which also maintains their original functions,and automatic test is achieved.The research promotes the progress of test mode alteration from” multi-man execution” to ”few men on duty” positively.
