The outdoor public spaces in urban settlements carry daily activities such as daily entertainment,fitness,and rest.The weather in Xi'an is hot and hot in summer.Due to the poor climate suitability during the design of outdoor public spaces in residential areas,it directly affects people's outdoor travel and activities.Environmental Quality.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to improve the comfort of outdoor public spaces in residential areas,meet the needs of residents for outdoor public spaces,create beautiful and comfortable outdoor public spaces in residential areas,and strengthen the optimal design of the summer microclimate landscape in outdoor public spaces in Xi'an residential areas.This article takes typical urban settlements in Xi'an as the object of investigation.First,through field investigation and questionnaire survey,it analyzes and summarizes the problem of poor climate suitability of outdoor public spaces in residential areas of Xi'an.Secondly,taking Huaqing Xuefu City in Xi'an as the research object of urban residential area measurement and simulation,through on-site measurement and questionnaire survey,the typical underlying surface of the outdoor public space in the residential area and the differential outdoor public space were tested on the ground.The evaluation methods of wet bulb black bulb temperature index and human comfort are used to assess environmental comfort.Finally,the micro-climate simulation software ENVI-met is used to calibrate themeasured values of the site,so as to simulate and analyze more types of underlying surfaces,plant layout types of the event site,and building shadow space,and propose a comprehensive landscape optimization strategy.This paper draws the following conclusions through two research methods: measured data and software simulation:(1)Among the landscape constituent elements that affect the summer microclimate of outdoor public spaces in residential areas,the underlying surface has a significant heating effect on the test site,and the measured underlying surface types are ranked from large to small in terms of decreasing temperature and humidification effect under the conditions of full sunshine environment.It is: lawn>asphalt>square brick>anticorrosive wood>red permeable brick.Under the environmental conditions shaded by plants,the cooling and humidifying effects are ranked from large to small: lawn>asphalt>anticorrosive wood>red permeable brick>square brick.The software is used to supplement and partially verify other types of underlying surfaces.The software simulates the cooling and humidifying effects of the eight underlying surface materials from large to small: lawn>soil>wood planks>yellow bricks>broken bricks>concrete>red bricks >Asphalt.(2)Plants have the effect of cooling and humidifying the test site.Different plant layout forms will form different spaces.The understory space formed by the point plant layout is 2.1? lower than the maximum temperature of the open space formed by the enclosed plant layout.The maximum temperature of the open space formed without plant enclosure is 3.8? lower.Due to the limitations of the current site comparison form,the software is used to simulate the effect of different plant layout types on the outdoor microclimate cooling and humidification of the outdoor activity venue.The comparison is ranked as the preferred free-style plant layout,followed by the enclosed plant layout and belt Plant layout,point plant layout.(3)The shadow of the building has a short-term cooling effect on the test site.The range of the site covered by the general shadow area of the building can be used as a reference for the preferred location of the outdoor public space activity site in the residential area.(4)Based on the above relevant research results,a landscape optimization design strategy to improve the summer microclimate of outdoor public spaces in urban settlements is proposed,and a landscape optimization design plan is proposed for outdoor public spaces with prominentmicroclimate problems in the residential area of Huaqing Xuefu City.
