The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of bamboo leaves extract of Bashania fargesii(Bamboo Leaves Extract,BLE)from Qinling Foping on the growth and development,intestinal mucosa protection,and digestion and absorption of mice at different environment temperatures.2×2 double factor repeated test design was adopted(feeding temperature: 25°C at normal temperature and 4°C at low temperature;BLE infusion dose: 0 mg/kg BW and 340 mg/kg BW).240 7-week-old female Kunming mice were randomly divided into 4 treatments(normal temperature control group,NT + CON;normal temperature bamboo leaves extract group,NT+BLE;low temperature control group,LT+CON;low temperature bamboo leaves extract group,LT+BLE).There were 6 replicates for each treatment,10 mice for each replicate,and the experimental period was 28 days.The experiment was carried out in two stages,and food utilization,intestinal histomorphology,intestinal digestive enzyme activity,intestinal mucin area and short-chain fatty acid content of mice were measured at 14 and 28 days respectively.The test results showed that:1.Compared with the normal temperature group,the body weight gain of mice in the low temperature group was significantly reduced(P<0.05),the food intake was significantly increased(P<0.01),and the food utilization was significantly reduced(P<0.01);compared with the control group,the body weight gain of the BLE group was significantly increased(P<0.05),the food intake was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and the food utilization was significantly increased(P<0.01);at low temperature,the food intake of the BLE group was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and the food utilization was significantly increased(P<0.05).The results showed that the infusion of BLE can alleviate the growth and development slowdown of mice caused by low temperature to some extent.2.Compared with the normal temperature group,the villus height of duodenum,jejunum and ileum and VH/CD of duodenum and ileum in the low temperature group were significantly reduced,and the crypt depth of duodenum was significantly increased(P<0.05);compared with the control group,the villus height and VH/CD of duodenum and ileum of mice of the BLE group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and it had a tendency to increase the villus height and VH/CD of jejunum,with the maximum increase of 10.02% and 3.29%,respectively;at low temperature,the villus height of duodenum in the BLE group was significantly increased(P<0.05).The results showed that the infusion of BLE can restore the damage of intestinal mucosal structure caused by low temperature in mice to a certain extent,and enhance the digestion and absorption of nutrients in the intestinal tract.3.Compared with the normal temperature group,the ileum trypsin and lipase activity of mice in the low temperature group were significantly reduced(P<0.01),and the amylase activity showed a decreasing trend,with the highest decreasing range of 9.54%;compared with the control group,the activity of trypsin and lipase in the BLE group was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the amylase activity had a tendency to increase,with a maximum increase of 4.87%;the activity of lipase in the BLE group was significantly increased at low temperature(P<0.01).The results showed that the infusion of BLE can alleviate the inhibition of intestinal digestive enzyme activity in mice caused by low temperature.4.Compared with the normal temperature group,the area of colonic neutral and mixed mucin,acid mucin and mucosa of mice in the low temperature group were significantly reduced(P<0.05);compared with the control group,the area of mucosa in the BLE group was significantly increased(P<0.01),the area of mucin showed an increasing trend,with the highest increasing range of 11.79%;in the BLE group,the area of mucosa was significantly increased under low temperature(P<0.01),and the ratio of the area of neutral and mixed mucin to the mucosa was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The results showed that the infusion of BLE can improve the phenomenon of intestinal wall thinning and mucin secretion decreasing caused by low temperature to some extent.5.Compared with the normal temperature group,the colonic acetic acid,propionic acid,butyric acid and total acid contents in the low temperature group were significantly reduced(P<0.05);compared with the control group,the contents of butyric acid and isobutyric acid in the BLE group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the other acids showed a tendency to increase,with a maximum increase of 43.83%.The results showed that the infusion of BLE can improve and enhance the level of intestinal short-chain fatty acids to a certain extent.In summary,low temperature can destroy the intestinal mucosa structure of mice,inhibit the activity of intestinal digestive enzymes,reduce mucin secretion and reduce the level of short chain fatty acids,and then affect the integrity of the intestinal mucosa structure and normal digestion and absorption functions,thereby slowing down growth and development.Infusion of a certain amount of bamboo leaves extract of Bashania fargesii can improve the structure and function of intestinal mucosa in mice,that is,protect the intestinal mucosa,enhance the digestion and absorption of nutrients in the intestine,and then promote the growth and development of mice.
