GPS tracking technology is a common technology for animal movement ecology research, but there is no wild boar movement ecology research using GPS tracking technology in China. We captured 6 wild boars and deployed GPS collars in this study in the southern area of Lesser Khingan Mountains from January to February 2019,and recorded the movement data of wild boars during January 2019 to November 2019 in four seasons:winter, spring, summer and autumn.Based on these GPS points, the activity pattern of the wild boar is summrized by calculating the activity amount in different time periods, and the day range of the wild boar is obtained by the distance between the daily rest point and the other points.Using the Brownie Bridge Movement Model(BBMM),seasonal home range is modeled, and the step selection function(SSF)is used to study the wild boar habitat selection, and the wild boar sex and seasonal differences in the above content are compared. The main research conclusions are as follows:1)The statistical results of the activity of wild boar recorded by GPS collar at different time periods show that wild boars in the south of Lesser Khingan Mountains often perform activities in the morning and evening, and the activity time increases from winter to spring, summer, and autumn.Females are slightly more active in winter than males, and males are more active in spring than females.2)The day range of female wild boars in the south of Lesser Khingan Mountains in winter is greater than the day range in spring, while the day range of male wild boars in winter is slightly smaller than that in spring and the day range of males in winter is significantly smaller than that of females,Summer or autumn is the season with the largest distance for male wild boars.3)The home range of female wild boars in winter is larger than that in spring, while the home range of male wild boars in winter is smaller than that in spring.Female wild boars tend to be relatively scattered in a certain area in winter, but the activity is more concentrated in spring. However, male wild boars tend to use certain resource patches in winter, and activities in spring are more scattered.4)The home range variences among wild boar individuals and seasons is large.Wild boars in the south of Lesser Khingan Mountains prefer to choose broad-leaved forest as the active area. They often move in the area of 200-400 meters altitude, and often choose higher slopes and slopes facing east. Some individuals do not avoid the road.In the SSF model, the slope and the distance from each forest type are the main predictors of the occurrence of wild boars. The slope and the wild boar are positively correlated in four seasons. The distance from each forest type varies according to seasons and the forest type. There is a negative correlation between forest distance and occurrence in all seasons. The motion parameters and landscape variables that can be included in the SSF model need further study.
