With the development of marine research, more and more achievements have been made by experts and scholars in numerical and laboratory wave tanks. The right numerical simulation can provide the foundation for the construction of laboratory tank, ocean engineering and coastal engineering.Wave is one of the main factors. In this paper, the development and present situation of numerical tank and laboratory tank are introduced, the wave theory and fluid control equation are introduced, and the numerical simulation and wave-making tests based on spherical momentum source are carried out.The traditional wave-making tank is mainly push-plate type, which needs large-scale reconstruction because of its high construction cost and complex operation. The wave tank with spherical momentum source(wave-making ball)as wave source has the advantages of simple results and easy operation, and can realize various forms of wave simulation. In this paper,a numerical tank with spherical momentum sources as wave structure is established to simulate and study waves, including the following aspects:(1)In this paper,a two-dimensional numerical wave-making tank based on spherical momentum sources is established to study the generation, propagation and superposition of waves, analyze the characteristics of wave parameters, and analyze the diameter of different momentum sources, the influence of different submergence ratio on wave parameters and the law of flow velocity at the same location and different water depth. In the single momentum source model, the wave height generated by the spherical momentum source is irregular, and the period stability is equal to that of the momentum source. The submergence ratio has an influence on the irregularity of the wave. The velocity is different in different water depth. In the double single momentum source model, the results conform to the superposition principle of waves.(2)A three-dimensional numerical wave-making tank based on spherical momentum sources is established to study the generation and superposition of waves. In the single momentum source model, the wave height generated by the spherical momentum source is irregular, and the period stability is equal to that of the momentum source. The higher the peak velocity is,the higher the average wave height is.In the double single momentum source model, the results conform to the superposition principle of waves.(3)The wave-making tests of a spherical momentum source(wave-making ball)tank are carried out,and the wave parameters are collected by using a non-contact acoustic wave altimeter. The experimental results of single and double wave-making balls agree with the superposition principle of waves. The numerical simulation results based on momentum sources of sphere structure are consistent with the experimental results, and the results are satisfactory. It provides guidance and reference for new wave-making methods and ocean environment simulation technology, which has important significance.
