Since modern times,after the unremitting exploration of the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people,the long-running road to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered a new era.However,there is a horizontal comparison of the history since the Opium War.On the world stage,it seems that the situation of "a strong country and a strong country,and a weak country and a weak country" has continued.In fact,over the past 2,000 years of history,China has been the world leader for more than 1800 years,and the leading powers of the western powers in the past 200 years are just an episode in the entire history.After the unremitting struggle of the Communist Party of China and the people,China once again stood on the center stage of the world,achieved a peaceful rise,and broke through the so-called Matthew Effect dilemma in the West.Many related studies have shown that the Matthew effect exists in many fields,and there are some characteristics of the Matthew effect,ranging from small family members to large countries.Although it has been more than 50 years since the Matthew effect was proposed,the research in the academic community has experienced the development stage from qualitative analysis to quantitative research,and there are quite a lot of Matthew effect research theories,but so far it has not formed a scientific and effective Measurement method.In this regard,this article systematically summarizes and analyzes the research status and research methods of the Matthew effect,discusses the generation mechanism and two-way effect of the Matthew effect,and analyzes the traditional measured numerical discreteness indicators such as the Gini coefficient,the dispersion coeficient,and the Theil index.The principle of calculation demonstrates the limitations of such indicators for measuring the Matthew effect.Proposed some academic opinions:(1)The indicators that measure the discreteness of the data distribution cannot identify the changes in the data distribution structure.The reason is due to its specific mathematical expression structure.(2)The concept of Matthew effect has double meanings.The first is spatial.The data distribution is discrete,and the second is the continuity of the pattern state in time;(3)The Matthew effect is a periodic feature and is not constant.Therefore,we attempted to deconstruct the Matthew effect,selected the Coefficient of variation in the spatial dimension as a measure of the characteristics of the spatial dimension,and constructed the Ranking Fluctuating Coefficient(RFC)in the time dimension.Based on the mathematical structure of the Process Capability Index(CPK),a Matthew Coefficient(MC)was created,and the Matthew Index(MI)was further reconstructed.Based on the new method,combined with the traditional Gini coefficient,Theil index,and Herfindahl-Hirschman index method,the above indicators in the three areas of science and technology,education,and economics in 31 provinces in China from 2000 to 2016 were measured and calculated respectively.The performance of each method in measuring the Matthew effect and the development trend of the Matthew effect in various fields are analyzed.The results show that:(1)there is a certain degree of Matthew effect in the three fields of science,technology,economy and education;(2)the phenomenon of Matthew effect in the field of science and technology is the strongest,followed by the economic field and the education field;(3)at the same time As a whole,the three areas show an evolutionary trend in which the Matthew effect is weakening year by year,and the development trends of the two areas are relatively similar.
