Dictyosteliud cellular slime molds,commonly refered as Dictyostelium are a relatively old group which mainly grows in the soil,litter layer and animal feces.It lives as phagocytes of bacteria and has an important influence on the changes of soil bacterial communities,wordwide use as model organism for genetics and cytological studies.Dictyostelium are small and have a short life span and that can be completed and observed in the laboratory.In this study,morphological observations and molecular biology methods as supplement were applied to study the species of Cellular slime molds and their distribution in Jilin Province,China to enrich the Cellular slime molds bioresources.in the inner area of the Province.There were 20 species in 2 orders,4 families and 5 genera in this study,which were islolated from 445 soil samples from different regions in Jilin Province.Out of these were four new records to China and seven new records to Jilin Province.Thirteen species belonged to Dictyosteliales,from which 10 species were Dictyostelium,including three new species in China,D.firmibasis,D.septentrionalis,D.quercibrachium and three new species to Jilin Province,D.macrocephalum,D.sphaerocephalum and D.arabicum,four species known to Jilin Province.Two species of Raperostelium were isolated,R.tenue was found for the first time in Jilin province.One species of Polysphondylium was also isolated namely P.violaceum.Seven species in Acytosteliales were obtained;one species in Cavenderia,C.nanopodium was described as new in China.Seven species of Heterostelium were isolated,among which the three species H.pallidum and H.arachnoideum were new to Jilin Province.A detailed description of the species and their pictures has also been attached in this study.Based on the 18 S rRNA sequences and phylogenetic tree inferences on the isolated specimen from Jilin Province,same genus species clustered along the same evolutionary anscestory,comfirming the accuracy of classification and the genetic relationship between species.The asexual life cycle of Dictyostelium including D.firmibasis,D.septentrionalis and D.quercibrachium were studied.The results showed that it needed 36-38 hours,40-43 hours,48-49 hours to build a mature sorocarp for D.firmibasis,D.quercibrachium and D.septentrionalis respectively.
