Ever since the industrial revolution,human activities have been increasingly affecting the Earth's environment.On the one hand,population agglomeration improves the efficiency of urban operation and enriches the diversity and richness of urban life.On the other hand,the urbanization promotes the modern city to be exposed to a variety of acute shocks and chronic pressure,such as the natural disaster,the extreme weather,the infectious disease,the economic fluctuation,the terrorist attack and so on.Urban climate and urbanization are intertwined in an almost kind of"vicious circle".It should be recognized,however,that technological innovation,which has been promoted with the process of urbanization,should be seen as the key to tackle negative urban climate problems,providing the basis for decoupling the relationship between high quality life and negative urban climate.As a result,the increasing cities on a global scale will add the climate change adaptation into the framework of modern urban planning.Planners,climate scientists and city managers collaborate to enhance the urban climatic resilience to address the threats and challenges posed by climate change.Firstly,this research interprets the concept of climate resilient city and outdoor thermal comfort,combines the case analysis and comparison with the toughness practice of high-density cities around the world,and summarizes the development of climate resilient city from both theoretical research and action plan.Using the typical urban high-density center at block scale as the research object,the concrete application of outdoor thermal comfort analysis is designed to explore the method that planners use scientific tools,dynamic data and ideal models to visualize and translate climatic and environmental information into designing language with the further progress of intelligent city and data explosion.The aim of this research is to expand the planner view to city cognition and to provide the operable planning and designing reference and suggestion for the future climate resilient city being put into full effect.
