With sophisticated manufacture and natural texture,Wood Pyrography,a traditional Chinese folk handcraft,seeks the beauty of monochrome from the change of light and the shape of lines.However,its inheritance and development were limited due to its complicated processing technology.In recent years,with the fast development in manufacturing,laser technology has become increasingly widely used in wood processing.By studying the characteristics of laser processing wood materials,it is found that laser carving technology exhibits great potentials for the imitation Pyrography,and it is possible to provide new ideas for the innovation and inheritance of Wood Pyrography.The research is divided into four parts.First,through literature review and field investigati on,the production tools,themes,techniques,specific applications of Pyrography were analyzed,and its development-related problems were explored.Second,through literature review,the research status of laser processing of wood materials were summarized,and the priorities of the research on laser processing of wood materials were listed.Third,Control Variable Method was used to analyze the influence of preliminary parameters(speed,power and focal length)on "line" and "face" processing.Fourth,based on Response Surface Method,Box-Behnken model was used to analyze the significance of single factor and interaction,and the design of carving parameters to simulate the "line" and "face" in traditional Pyrography art was optimized.Through the researches above,specific design was conducted to explore the feasibility of laser processing Wood Pyrography.Through single-factor experiments,it was found that laser power,speed and focal length all had their own influences on the results.Combined with the characteristics of different factors,Response Surface Method was effective to realize Pyrography through the optimization of reasonable processing parameters..and concluded that:focal length has the greatest effect on the gap width,and the interaction between focal length and laser power is the most significant;Laser power has the greatest effect on groove depth,and the interaction between focal length and laser power is the most significant;Laser speed has the greatest effect on total color difference AE*,and the interaction between laser speed and laser power is the most significant.The results demonstrated that the laser engraving technology was capable of mimicking handcrafted Wood Pyrography,which is conducive to mass production,the popularization of Pyrography,and the application of Pyrography in different areas.
