Tribo-electrification refers to the phenomenon that charges are transferred from one object to another after two objects are contacted,so that two objects are charged with the same amount of different charges.This phenomenon has been observed long ago and a lot of research has been done.Tribo-electrification is often due to the transfer of free electrons,because atoms of different substances have different binding capacity to their extranuclear electrons.When two objects contact,objects with weak binding force to the extranuclear electrons will lose their electrons and become positively charged,while objects with strong binding force will get negative charges.Many problems have been found in the study of friction electrification,such as the effect of charge accumulation on material wear,the distribution of surface charge in tribo-electrification,and the mechanism of charge transfer during friction.The key to solve these problems is to develop a tribo-electrification detection system to realize high resolution and high sensitivity detection of tribo-chariging.For this reason,this paper intends to develop a tribo-electrification measuring device,and preliminary experimental research on that is carried out by using this device.The developed tribo-electrification detection system consists of mechanical system,control system and measurement system.The mechanical system is mainly used to provide rotary friction.Two discs of the same size are used as friction pairs.The lower disc rotates around its axis,and the upper disc is fixed and contacts the lower disc with a certain load.The control system is mainly composed of the contact point position adjustment device,the load control device and the rotation control device of the friction pair.The measurement system is composed of load measurement and electric measurement.Load is measured by force transducer,while power is measured by Kethley 6517B electrometer.Electricity measurement methods include Faraday cup method and probe method.The frictional surface potential of different materials is measured by using a tribo-electrification measuring device,which proves the feasibility of high resolution and high sensitivity frictional electrification measurement.It is found that the friction potential of the material surface is affected by the load and friction speed during the electrification process.The work of this paper lays a foundation for the study of tribo-electrification under different influence parameters and provides a basis.
