Vermicompost can improve soil properties as organic fertilizer, which increases soil nutrients, and promotes plant growth and development. However, the effects of vermicompost on fruit quality and soil microorganisms of blue honeysuckle remains unclear.A pot experiment was conducted in the germplasm nursery of blue honeysuckle in Northeast Agricultural University from 2017 to 2018.The pot height and inner diameter were 32 cm and 32 cm,respectively. The 2-year-old ‘Lan Jingling'?berel????Lanniao????was used as the experimental materials.Four different ratios?E1:20% vermicompost with 80% garden soil;E2:40% vermicompost with 60% garden soil;E3:60% vermicompost with 40% garden soil;E4:80% vermicompost with 20% garden soil?were set up,and normal garden soil without vermicompost as control. The effects of vermicompost on the growth and development, fruit quality and soil microorganisms of blue honeysuckle were studied in order to provide scientific basis for precise fertilization of blue honeysuckle. The main findings are as follows:?1?The effects of different proportions of vermicompost on blue honeysuckle were different.with 40% vermicompost treatment showed that blue honeysuckle grew well at all stages. The plant height was significantly higher than that of other treatments, which reached 69.47 cm at the mature stage, which was 1.14 times higher than that of the control. The stem diameter of 20% vermicompo st treatment was the best at each stage, which reached 9.1mm at mature stage and showed 5.8% higher than that of the control.?2?The effects of vermicompost on the weight and size of blue honeysuckle fruit s were different. With 40% vermicompost treatment, the average single fruit weight of blue honeysuckle was 1.29 g,which was 18.66% higher than that of the control. The average transverse diameter of fruits was 27.09 mm.which was 15.03% higher than that of the control. The longitudinal diameter was 9.27 mm showed 10.75% higher than that of the control.?3?The effects of vermicompost ratios on fruit quality of blue honeysuckle were different. With 20% and 80% vermicompost treatments, the titratable acid content of blue honeysuckle was significantly lower than that of the control, which accounted for 70.34% and 64.57% of the control, respectively. With 40% vermicompost treatment could significantly increase the soluble sugar content of blue honeysuckle, and reached 9.2% at maturity stage, which was 1.18 times higher than that of the control. With 20% vermicompost treatment, the content of soluble solids in blue honeysuckle was the highest, however, there was no significant differences among other vermicompost treatments. All of them were higher than of the control.?4?The 40% vermicompost treatment could significantly increase the fruit setting rate and yield of blue honeysuckle. The fruit setting rate reached 69%,which was 1.64 times higher than that of the control. The average yield per plant reached 26.26 g,which was 1.42 times as much as that of the control.Fruit setting rate and average yield per plant increased first and then decreased with the increase of the vermicompost ratio.?5?The enzyme activity in rhizosphere soil of blue honeysuckle could be enhanced by addition of the vermicompost, and the activity of sucrase increased first and then steadily during the whole growth period. The urease activity increased first and then decreased, and r eached the peak value at color conversion period. The catalase activity showed a trend of continuous enhancement. The activity of invertase, urease, catalase and phosphatase was the strongest. With 80% vermicompost treatment, which was 1.9,2.45,1.21 and 1.86 times higher than that of the control at the mature stage,respectively.?6?With 40% vermicompost treatment, the number of bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes in rhizosphere soil of blue honeysuckle was the most(5.29 × 107CFU·g-1,7.24 × 104CFU·g-1,7.78 × 106CFU·g-1),which was 1.8,2.1 and 1.7 times higher than that of the control, respectively. The number of bacteria in 80% vermicompost treatment was lower than that in the control, which was 87.76% of the control. The number of the three microorganisms in other treatments was higher than that in the control, with the increase of vermicompost ratio. There were significant differences among the treatments.?7?The microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen in rhizosphere soil of blue honeysuckle increased with the increase of vermicompost ratio. The biomass carbon and nitrogen showed the same trend, reaching the maximum value with 80% vermicompost treatment, which were 158 mg kg-1 and 85.33 mg kg-1,respectively.It was 3.95 and 4.3 times higher than that of the control. There were significant differences among the vermicompost treatments.
