Based on the stress threshold model of ecosystem services affected by coal mining, this paper estimates the stress threshold in Huaibei City from three perspectives of land destruction, groundwater resource destruction and air pollution to reveal the temporal variation of stress effects of ecosystem service from 1990 to 2016.Then,based on the correlation degree model and the coupling degree model, this paper also reveals the changing pattern of the coupling between the coal mining and the values of ecosystem service in Huaibei City from 1990 to 2016.The results show that:(1)Coal mining has significant stress threshold effects on ecosystem service in Huaibei City, the stress thresholds of land destruction, groundwater resource destruction and air pollution are 1803.19 hectares,332.5323 million tons and 88888.81 billion standard cubic meters, respectively.Meanwhile, the stress effects show stage characteristics, during 1990-2009,ecosystem service was in good condition and none of the above three thresholds were exceeded;after 2010,groundwater resource of the region was affected by coal mining which exceeded the corresponding threshold and caused the degradation of ecosystem services.Fortunately, the worsening trend has slowed down since 2015.(2)The correlation between coal mining and ecosystem services in Huaibei is between 0.44 and 0.56,showing a moderate coupling situation overall.Among them, the stress of coal mining on ecosystem services is mainly through the destruction of water resources, while the constraint of ecosystem services on coal mining mainly comes from regulatory services. The temporal variation of coupling degree between coal mining and ecosystem services in Huaibei is characterized by "inverted N"in the past three decades.Specifically, from 1990 to 1999,the degree of coupling declined gradually, and then it increased steadily from 2000 to 2008.After that, the degree of coupling experienced a downward trend which indicates that the contradiction between the coal mining and regional ecosystem was alleviated, thereby presenting a prosperous development which is comprehensive and coordinated.
