The northern region of Ankang is located along the southern margin of the Qinling orogenic belt. The abundance of ore-forming elements occurring within the basement volcanic rocks and the surrounding carbonaceous-silicious rocks in this area is relatively high.It has undergone multiple stages of hydrothermal-structural transformation due to the complex geological evolution process. The enrichment of oreforming element forms deposits such as Ankang Dahekou large-scale rutile deposit,Liufang,Shagou,Wujiawan,Changgou and Luming, and many other minor-to medium-scale gold deposits as well as other metal and non-metallic mineral products.Previous studies showed that it has the potential of turning a single mine to a multimine and a small deposit to bigger in this region. However, the steep terrain and the high vegetation coverage make it difficult to carry out comprehensive geological and mineral exploration on Earth's surface.Based on the aeromagnetic, aeroradiometric, previous geological survey results and field measurements physical properties of rocks in the Hanzhong-Ankang area, this study uses aeromagnetic, airborne gamma spectral data and remote sensing images to further analysis the structure, lithology identification and mineral prediction in this region by using the different data fusions.Combined with existing geological data, the effects of aeromagnetic, airborne gamma spectral data, and remote sensing data on tectonic and lithology identification in vegetation cover areas were evaluated. In this study,18 major faults were identified and of which 13 were newly identified;13 circular structures were identified;one circular structure was used to identified a group volcanic structures and two groups concealed rocks.A total of 28 groups rock units were identified,in which a group of basicultrabasic volcanic rocks and 7 groups veins were newly identified. This study summarizes the mineralization mechanism of regional minerals, analyzing the aeromagnetic, aeroradiometric, and remote sensing anomalies associated with known minerals, and explains the intrinsic connection between mineralization and anomalies on the basis of tectonic and lithologic identify by combining with the previous mineral research results.According to the characteristics of the known minerals anomalies, submit the principle of delineation with the hydrothermal gold and rutile mineralization prospective area as follows: U/Th isolines valued to 0.5 which indicate reducing environment fits well along high value zone of K×U/Th that indicate the degree of alteration, and U/Th isolines valued to 0.2 which indicate transition of the redox environment fits well along the median zone of K×U/Th that may indicate the altered halo.According to this principle,13 mineralization prospects are delineated, and of 3 first-level metallogenic prospects coincide with the prospecting target areas of the 1:50,000 mineral survey. The results of tectonic, lithology identification and mineralprospects indicate that it is feasible to use aeromagnetic, aeroradiometric, and remote sensing data for geological mapping and guiding to prospect in vegetation coverage areas.
