Hebosuo Site is located in Kunming City,Yunnan Province.It is the largest shell mound site of Shizhaishan Cultural Settlements in Dianchi District,Yunnan Province.Shizhaishan is famous for its unearthed "the seal which belongs to the King of Dian " and a large number of bronzes with unique shapes and different styles.The Shizhaishan Culture has become a unique archaeological culture of the Bronze Age in Southwest China and even Southeast Asia.In 2008,the Sino-US joint archaeological team carried out systematically regional survey near the southeastern region of Dianchi Lake which defined the scope of Hebosuo site,and the two sites were comprehensive excavated in 2014,2016 and 2017.In this paper,the animal remains unearthed from the Hebosuo site in 2017 are taken as clues to speculate the economic model and cultural features of this site,which also can discuss the relationship between different settlements,the evolution process,the human activities and the natural environment at that time in Dianchi Basin.The paper is divided into seven parts.1.Brief introduction of Hebosuo Site,including geographical location,excavation background,divisions and stages,animal and plant resources and natural environment.2.Identification and description of animal remains unearthed from the site.3.Burial analysis of animal bones.Including classification,surface traces,degree of weathering and pathological conditions.4.Statistics and analysis of ancestor diet.5.Analysis of the age structure of the animals unearthed from the site.6.According to the unearthed animal remains,we can restore the natural environment around the site and the lifestyle of the residents at that time.7.Discussion and summary.
