Research And Application Of TVC-MED Seawater Desalination Process In Zhanjiang Iron And Steel Factory

Freshwater is essential to earth life,and freshwater resource is one of the key factors which restrict human development and industry.But the amount of land fresh water is very limited,not inexhaustible,so humans began to study how to find more freshwater resources long ago.After a long-term exploration,it is found that seawater desalination is the most feasible and effective method,and that theories and rich experience of seawater desalination has been accumulated in the years of research.This paper describes seawater desalination technology in and abroad.MED and RO have been widely promoted.The LT-MED technology is about water evaporation and steam condensation.Corresponding configuration process equipment and piping system are set and also the design of desalination implemented based on thermodynamic calculation.Thermodynamic calculation is the key and core technology,which is basis for ensuring the stable operation of the system.Through the design,manufacturing,installation and operation of Zhanjiang Iron and Steel seawater desalination system,the hot steam system,material water system,condensate system,brine discharge system,cooling water system,vacuum system,water system,refined chemical dosing system,electric instrument control system are designed and calculated.The scientific and effectiveness of the whole system are verified,providing effective data for the subsequent research of seawater desalination.
