Land use is a dynamic process. It refers to the way in which the natural attributes of land are used by humans and the purpose of human use of land.Land cover is a comprehensive manifestation of surface features, including various natural features and artificial features such as trees, rocks, rivers, mountains and buildings. It has a certain space-time characteristics. The landscape is an organism composed of natural factors and human disturbances. The landscape pattern(space)is usually a combination of space and time consisting of landscape elements of different shapes and sizes, such as randomness, uniformity,or aggregation of various patches in space. It is the result of multiple ecological processes acting on different spatial scales.Xinjiang, which is located in the hinterland of Eurasia,is the province with the longest land boundary in China.Geographical location and economic space are extremely special. Its strategic position is extremely important, and its spatial structure is uniquely distributed.Accelerating land-use landscape pattern analysis is particularly significant. As the global population is growing rapidly and the available land resources are relatively reduced,it is of great significance to analyze the temporal and spatial characteristics of land use landscape patterns, evaluate the current status of land use, adjust the land use structure, and formulate rational land use policies..This paper takes the remote sensing image of the third phase of the northern Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang(1995,2005,and 2015)as the data source.Combined with the statistical data, basic data, and literature records of the study area, the landscape pattern of land use in the study area for nearly 20 years is obtained.Change data.On the platform of remote sensing and GIS,combined with the theoretical knowledge of remote sensing, geography, landscape ecology, etc.,land use patterns and landscape pattern analysis of land use changes in the study area in the past 20 years were carried out to clarify the drivers of land use change..The main research results of the paper are as follows:(1)In the past 20 years, the dominant land use types in the study area were grassland and unused land, and the two types of land continued to shift to other types of land use.The land used for arable land, urban and rural industrial and mining residents has increased, the area of forest land has decreased, and the area of water areas has changed little. The dynamic changes of land use in the first 10 years are relatively drastic, and the degree of land use dynamics is relatively stable in the following 10 years.(2)The utilization rate of grassland, forest land, water areas, and unused land in the study area was relatively low,and the utilization of urban land was greatly increased, and there was a gradual increase. Both the northern desert environment and the southern glacier area are less utilized.(3)From the spatial distribution of land use landscape index, the spatial distribution of diversity index, dominance index and evenness index is more regular, and the complexity of land use landscape in the northeast, middle and south and middle east of the study area Small, the diversity index is small, and the degree of dominance is large;in the areas where the human activities are the strongest and the weakest, the diversity index is small, the dominance is large, and the landscape evenness index is low.(4)Population growth and economic growth, accelerating urbanization process and continuous improvement of national policies are the main driving forces for the landscape pattern and land use changes in the study area.Natural factors such as geological disasters will also have a certain impact on regional land changes.
