Objectives Short tandem repeat sequences(STRs)are polymorphic genetic markers distribute wide in people's genome which are now used widely in forensic science for individual identification and parenthood judgment. Methods STR-kit,DNAtyperl5 is used to carry out a population genetics investigation in four minorities(She Zu,Xi Bo Zu,Zhuang Zu and Tibetan)distributed in different regions of China. At last,we got the allelic information of 15 loci, namely: D6S1043?D21S11?D7S820?CSFl P0?D2S1338?D3S1358?D13S317?D8S1l79?D16S539?Penta E?D5S818?v WA?D18S51?FGA and Amel. Results Results of our experimentation showed that most loci's heterozygotes(H)were beyond 90%,power of discrimination(DP)were beyond 0.7,probability of exclusion patemity(EPP)were beyond 0.5 and polymorphism information contents(PIC)were beyond or almost reached 0.7.Cumulative power of discrimination(CDP)of these 15 loci reached the level 15 "9" after the radix point and cumulative probability of exclusion paternity(CEP)were reached the level 5 "9" after the radix point in all four minorities. Also,we calculated the index of genetic similarity and genetic distance between 10 colonies, processed clustering and drew the system tree using our data and data about other 6 ethnic by other researchers. These 10 colonies were obviously divided into two clusters: 6 Chinese minorities formed one(Mongoloid)and the others formed one(Caucasoid). Conclusions These 14 STR loci have satisfied allele frequencies distribution in 4 Chinese minorities and are fit to be used in forensic science. We can make a probability judgment rely on their CDP and CEP.
